Kimika had her Erikae, or her debut as a geiko, in which she visited okiya (geisha houses), ochaya (tea houses), and local stores to thank everyone for their support.The maiko and geiko of Miyagawacho are the best, they always pose for the photographers before beginning their debut walk
. You don't get that kind of love in Gion.

I die over almost anything purple, and that obijime is awesome. The Honjo ladies have some serious style. Kimika really is a perfect geiko to me, very beautiful, mysterious, and enchanting

Bold move though, throwing this random bit of purple in there, lol, but it pops against the gold like Dynamite! They do gots themselves some sassy style, lol. Kimika is soooo lovely, I fell in love with her when I saw those old photos of her rocking that deep red hiki in the middle of Spring, lol. She's very underrated.

Miyagawa-cho girls are the best. All my favorites (except for Umeha) are from Miyagawa-cho.

It was! I was especially fond of the obi and the big taiko she had in the back. It had a nice Taisho feel to it

And I find it amusing Miyagawacho geiko wear a purple obijime on erikae, I wonder why this is?

I wouldn't know about why they wear purple obijime, but I love that bright pop of color. I tried to keep it in a shot whenever I could.
