Description The following story is an excellent example of how not to write. It is truly terrible. I apologize for its existence and hope that none of you who read it are too badly traumatized.

You will see characters that think they come from Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo!, and Dragon Ball Z. They are wrong. The characters in this story are pale imitations if not outright mockeries of the ones that inspired them. They are horribly out of character, when they have one and when it's not being changed for no reason whatsoever. If you see somebody in character, this is very likely due to pure chance. Very rarely, I may have actually gotten something right, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I made this story up as I went along. It shows.

[The first page or two of the story has been lost, and the world is a better place for it.]

[...]thought out loud to herself. "He's tall, taller than me. His clothes are a bit strange, even if I can't see them completely, I know they are. It's funny, really, that I've never questioned his identity. Who is he?"

Ryoko stood up and walked around. She found it frustrating that she couldn't unveil the mystery man herself. Maybe she would figure it out one day. Tonight, however, was not the night that his true identity would be revealed. Sunrise would soon happen to sneak over the sleeping horizon, and Ryoko knew that Ayeka would be going into her room to wake her up.

Sighing, Ryoko paused for only a moment before passing back into the real world and into conciousness.

Piccolo watched his charge while she did, seemingly, nothing. He was 16-years-old, only a year older than the girl sitting below on the ground. A cape sat silently on his back, and the turban on his head was white like the cape with a jewel of purple on the center of it. All of his skin was green. His shirt was blue, his pants black, and his belt orange. The shoes on his feet were brown. Long nails rested on his fingers, and his fangs were like the rest of his teeth, white. The pupils of his eyes were black, just like the rim around them.

Personally, Piccolo thought the girl he had been charged with looking after was very beautiful. He didn't really mind having to just stare at her. The only bad part of it all was that he wasn't allowed to speak to her unless her life or health were being threatened. Piccolo knew that her being threatened in any way was actually an excuse to talk to her. A problem with that was him not being able to show his true physical form to her. Only his more basic features could be shown.

Piccolo sighed and then smiled as he foresaw her slipping and falling. It was far too close to sunrise for him to warn her in the Dream Realm. His smile turned into a grin that showed his fangs. He was going to have to warp into the real world in order to speak with her.

"Karo is going to be sooooo jealous," Piccolo said out loud as Ryoko disappeared into the Physical Realm. "Aren't I a lucky little-"

   "Idiot?" suggested a bitter voice.

Piccolo immediately swung around to see Karo, protector of Luna, a princess and his, Karo's, crush.

"I was leaning more towards something a bit nastier but that will do fine," replied Piccolo. "I'm looking forward to being able to show Ryoko who I am." He was now grinning like crazy. "Too bad you can't tell Luna, huh?"

Karo directed an obscene gesture at Piccolo and said, "That's not an offer, by the way."

Piccolo laughed and disappeared as he warped to the Physical Realm.

Ryoko was just stretching her arms when Piccolo appeared in the far left-hand corner from where she was currently sitting. She didn't see him, however, as she suddenly yawned and was forced to open her mouth as far as it could. After she yawned, Piccolo wasted no time in letting her know that he was in a corner of her room.

   "You awake yet?" he asked.

"Not quite yet, it's still kind of..." Ryoko trailed off. She hadn't looked at Piccolo, of course. Never did she look at a person when they asked her that question when she had just woken up. Now, however, that changed.

First, her eyes moved, then her head followed as she looked towards Piccolo's hiding place.

"Ahhhhhh," Ryoko began it in her normal voice but was quickly stopped before she could turn the started cry into a scream.

Ryoko's eyes were wide with fear and she was shaking. Piccolo had moved faster than her eyes could follow and had shoved his left hand over her mouth while his right arm went across the front of her body. This trapped her arms, and, because she was sitting, mostly prevented her from doing anything.

"Calm down, Ryoko," Piccolo said. "I won't hurt you, I swear it. If you promise to not scream, I'll take my hand off of your mouth. Deal?"

Ryoko wasn't sure she should trust Piccolo, but something was telling her to go ahead and just nod her head "yes."

"Okay," Piccolo said. "I'm gonna take my hand off of your mouth. I'm warning you now. If you scream, you're gonna be sorry. Got it?"

   Ryoko nodded "yes."

Piccolo took his hand away from her mouth.

"Good, now listen to me," Piccolo said with a little urgency. "I can only stay long enough to tell you a few things. After that, I will only be able to speak to you in your dreams, like before."

"You, you're the shadow guy from my dreams?!" Ryoko asked with excitement.

   "Yes, I am, but-"

"Oh, wow! I've always wondered what you looked like! Now I know!"

Piccolo left himself beginning to blush.

"Hey, can you let me look at you again? I didn't really see you that well."

   "Uhhh...."

   Ryoko started twisting a little.

"Pleeeeeease?" she asked. "I promise I won't tell anyone what you look like! Okay?! Please?!"

Piccolo let her go and she zipped around.

"Oh, w-w-wow," Ryoko said. "Y-you're really handsome!!"

Piccolo felt his face go completely red.

"I've really wanted to meet you... Ever since you first spoke to me I've wanted to see you...!" Ryoko could barely contain herself. "Please tell me that you'll stay! Please?! I really, really want you to stay!"

Piccolo was torn. How could he tell her that he wasn't even really allowed to go to the Physical Realm? But, how could he lie to her?

"I... Ryoko, I can't stay. I'm not eve suppose to be here, really..."

Ryoko felt her hope shatter. She trembled.

"I... I thought... You would stay with me... I thought... You would be my friend..."

Ryoko's head was tilted so that Piccolo could not see the tears that were falling down her face. She had no real friends. No one that she could trust. Even Ryooki had deserted her.

"Ryoko... Please... d-don't cry..." Piccolo's voice cracked. He had never been able to break the emotional bond that came with being Ryoko's guardian. If she was sad, so was he. If she was angry, so was he. It was the same for almost every other emotion.

"I... I have no friends... I can't even remember someone who has been nice to me except you... It was too good to be true," murmured Ryoko.

"I'm sorry, really I - I am... But Ryoko... I can always talk to you... in your dreams," Ryoko said.

"I suppose that's better than nothing... So, what did you need to tell me?"

"I came here to tell you that you shouldn't go out of your room immediately after Ayeka calls you. I know that seems strange, but trust me, Ryoko."

"Okay... So, you have to go now?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry, but I have to leave."

"Will you let me give you something so you can always remember me?"

   "I guess you can..."

"Good!" cried out Ryoko. Her head snapped up so quickly that tears shot off in different directions. One landed on Piccolo's face and made a trail down the side of his face.

"What are you going to give me?"

   Ryoko grinned. Her teeth showed.

"R-Ryoko? Wh-what are you grinning like th-that for...?" Piccolo asked nervously.

Ryoko said, "Tell me... Piccolo... has anyone ever... kissed you before?"

   "H-H-How do y-you know my n-name?"

"Hee hee... You don't think that I've just sat and thought every single night in the Dream Realm do you?"

   "I - I guess not..."

"Wanna know who told me, Piccolo?"

   "Wh-who?"

"Oh, just some guy named Kaaaaaro."

Piccolo sat there in disbelief. Of all people, he had not expected Karo to tell Ryoko who he, Piccolo, was.

He was wondering what else Ryoko knew when she said, "You still haven't answered my question, Piccolo. Have you ever been kissed before? Or have you ever kissed someone?"

   "N-no," Piccolo answered.

   "Really? Me neither!"

"Why did you want to know?"

"Hee hee hee..." Ryoko grinned as widely as ever when she said these words. "I'm happy you asked..."

Piccolo had about two seconds before Ryoko had thrown her arms around his neck and kissed him. He was so shocked that he sat unmoving.

Ryoko finally stopped kissing Piccolo. She saw that he was not quite back from "Lala Land." She giggled a little and gave him another kiss but a shorter one. Smiling, Ryoko took her arms away from his neck. Then she took the amulet and necklace from around her neck and placed it around his. She then hopped off the bed and went to the door.

"Ayeka!!! There's a man in my room!!!" she screamed.

Piccolo snapped out of it. He realized that Ayeka would come running believing that the man was Tenchi, Ayeka's great nephew.

   "Ryoko, no!!!" Piccolo whispered.

"Ryoko!!!!" shrieked Ayeka as she quickly ran to Ryoko's room. "What are you doing?!?!"

"Oops! False alarm, it was just my jacket in the corner," Ryoko said with a grin.

   "Yearrrrgh!!!!"

"Hee hee hee! Ayeka, you are so easy to trick into thinking that Tenchi would be in here with me!"

"Ryoko, you are such a witch!"

   "Hee, thank you!"

"You are impossible!" Ayeka cried out. She stomped off to her room.

Ryoko turned and went back into her room and shut the door.

"Well, stop by again, 'kay, Piccolo?" Ryoko said.

Piccolo blinked a few times, muttered, "Sure," and disappeared to the Dream Realm.

"Hmm... He sure is handsome," Ryoko murmured as she got dressed.

Lita found herself in the middle of a war that had been going on for three years now. The planet Jupiter was just not a docile place. Saiyans lived on this planet as well as on their home planet. The Jupiterians who lived on Jupiter didn't mind, but the few humans who lived there did mind. This was a war between Saiyans and humans and also a few Jupiterians who had also taken sides.

'If only there was a Super Saiyan in this war,' Lita thought. 'Then we wouldn't have to worry about losing! We would win for sure..."

Kendrako smacked away a human who was running at Lita.

"You doing okay?" he yelled above the noise level.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you? Still hangin' in there?"

   "Yep!"

Lita punched a hole through another human who was heading in Kendrako's direction. He died instantly.

Both Lita and Kendrako knew that the humans would lose. That would only happen, however, if Queen Sereena didn't show up. If she did, they, the Saiyans, might lose.

   Suddenly, the noise died down.

"Well, well, Makoto... It's been a while, hasn't it?" said the voice of Queen Sereena.

   Lita turned around.

"I thought you were the one who originally started calling me Lita," said Makoto. "Why the change, Sereena?"

"I just thought you ought to be called by your proper name before you die."

Makoto felt fear rising within herself. If Queen Sereena wanted her dead... then nothing but the entire Saiyan army could stop that from happening.

Sereena took out a wand with a strange ornament on it.

"This scepter can easily finish off what's left of the Saiyan army. Let's see what it can do to you."

Queen Sereena stretched her arms above her head. Energy began to collect around the scepter. She brought the scepter in front of her, straight out. She swung it in her right hand to behind her.

   "Moon..."

She swung it to her left side.

   "Death..."

She brought the scepter above her head again.

   "Cosmic..."

She swung the scepter back and then bent her elbow. Her left limb and hand mimicked her right ones except for on the last part where her left arm and hand were forward.

Makoto couldn't move; she was frozen with fear, the fear of death.

Sereena jabbed the scepter forward and yelled out at the same time, "Beam!!"

For Kendrako, everything was suddenly moving in slow motion. The Moon Death Cosmic Beam moved at Makoto. She tried to move, but Kendrako knew that the attack would hit its target. When it did, Makoto flew back, a hole through her stomach. For a moment, Kendrako froze up completely. Only one thought was going through his head: Makoto has been killed.

Sereena's laugh brought him back to reality.

"You always were weak, Makoto," Sereena said, smiling evilly. "Now that you're gone, the rest of these fools will be easily taken care of."

Kendrako suddenly felt all of his anger, fear, and sorrow come screaming back. So many feelings for a teenager were not good. Especially if that teen happens to be a Saiyan. Those two things added to a high power level were a perfect recipe for a Super Saiyan, and that was exactly what Queen Sereena got.

Kendrako's power crazily increased and then suddenly got cooped up as he tried to contain it. Then, his normally light brown hair went blonde as that energy escaped his grasp of control. His eyes went totally white for a moment, but after that his pupil and colored rim went green. He was practically screaming from the huge level of energy the whole time he was going Super Saiyan. Finally, however, his body stopped feeling like it was on fire and he quit making noise.

   Sereena stood there thunderstruck.

"N-no... You... You can't be... It's impossible..." she said fearfully.

The Sailor Scouts, minus Lita, had all come with the queen. They, too, were frightened.

"Ami!" snapped Sereena. "Tell me, he isn't a Super Saiyan is he?"

Ami checked Kendrako's status with her computer visor.

   "Well?" demanded Sereena.

"I - I'm afraid that he is a Super Saiyan, Queen Sereena," said Ami.

Sereena really was unsure of what to do now. She had a Super Saiyan on her hands, and that news was bad. There was no way, she knew, that humans could win this.

"A life," said Kendrako, "for a life."

He raised his right arm in front of him. Energy collected in his palm. Then he blasted Sereena with enough force to destroy her if she had been made of metal. She was disintegrated, the rest of the Scouts with her. This caused a reaction he was not expecting.

Every last human suddenly gave up the fight and ran. He killed almost all of them.

"K-Kendrako?" asked one of the last Saiyan warriors on the battlefield. Most of the others were headed back home.

   "What?" replied Kendrako quietly.

"Are you gonna be okay? I... I know that you and Makoto were close." He swallowed.

"I guess so. It's you that I'm worried about, though, Meko. You are her brother after all."

"I never knew Makoto well enough to call us siblings."

Kendrako nodded. Makoto had told him basically the same thing a long time ago, before the war had even started.

Even after Meko had left, Kendrako stood on the battlefield. He finally fell down on his knees and hands. Kendrako sobbed and shook as the true acceptance that Makoto was dead hit him. While he cried he became a normal Saiyan.

After he finally calmed down, Kendrako got up to bury Makoto, however, her body was gone. He looked around wondering what had happened to her body. Had someone taken it? No, that wasn't right. Kendrako searched the whole area before finally going home.

In his bed, Kendrako lie there staring up at the ceiling and trying to figure out what had happened. Maybe tomorrow he would go and speak to Ryoko or Ayeka. They were both intelligent. Perhaps one of them could explain this to him. He hoped so...

At four thirty-seven in the morning, Kendrako awoke to the sound of people pounding at his front door. What in the world did they want?

"Open up in the name of King Vegeta!" yelled a voice.

Kendrako got out of bed and went to the front door to see who the heck it was. He looked down at himself and suddenly realized that he was a mess. An undershirt and a pair of boxers were all that was on his lightly tanned skin. His brown hair was unbrushed, but then again, it always was. Still... he figured he ought to do something. Now, however it was too late. Whoever it was, he was pounding on the door like crazy, and it sounded as if other people were out there as well.

"Open the door, now!!" yelled one of them.

Kendrako knew they could just beat the thing down so he decided to go and get dressed.

By the time he got back, the people outside were begging for him to open the door. Kendrako adjusted his armor slightly and unlocked the door. When he opened it, several Saiyan royal guards practically fell inside Kendrako's house.

"Yes?" asked Kendrako. "Can I help you?"

"Are you Kendrako?" asked the tallest of them.

"Well, yes. My name is Kendrako Kinolan. Do you need something?"

"Yes. We need you to come to King Vegeta's palace."

   "Now?"

   "Now."

"Why does the king want me to go to his palace?"

   "Well..."

"I've heard," said a Saiyan with dark brown hair, "that the king wants to talk to you about your ability to become a Super Saiyan... Can you? Can you really turn into a Super Saiyan?"

"Yes, I can... but... why should King Vegeta himself care?"

"I think he would want you to become one of his personal guards," said a voice.

All of the royal guards turned, and Kendrako could see a Saiyan with black spiky hair. He had a scar down the right side of his face.

"Bardok," said one of the royal guards.

"Yes, that's my name," said the Saiyan warrior. "I advise that you watch your tongue in the presence of King Vegeta. He is, or at least can be, very cruel."

   "Thank you, Zatok," said Kendrako.

"Well, come on," said the tall, Saiyan royal guard.

So, Kendrako went with the royal guards to King Vegeta's palace with the idea that what was coming to him wasn't good.

Along the way, several Saiyans stopped what they were doing and watched. This made Kendrako uneasy, but the people just kept on staring.

When they finally got to the palace, Kendrako saw a familiar face.

"Hey, Kendrako! You come to visit my uncle, too?"

It was Ryoko, the neice of King Vegeta, daughter of Jerano and Washu, and cousin of Prince Vegeta. The prince was named after his father, who was named after his father, who was named after his father, and so on and so on. All of them bore the name of their home planet.

"Ryoko!" said Kendrako happily. "How are you? Been a while, hasn't it?"

"Sure has!" replied the princess. "So why are you here?"

"Your uncle apparently wishes to speak with me."

"Well, watch yourself in there. Uncle and Cousin Vegeta are both in a bit of a bad mood. Not that my cousin's ever in a good mood, but still... just be careful what you say in there, 'kay?"

   "Alright, I'll do that, Ryoko."

"Come on," said the tall Saiyan. "Let's not keep the king waiting."

Two Saiyan guards opened the doors to the palace and Kendrako went in alone.

"Welcome, Kendrako," said King Vegeta. "I need to speak with you about your, ah, talent..."
