So, our traditional new year is coming, a full week holiday is waiting for me, but before that we need to buy stuffs, prepare a lot of things and clean the houses, yeah, certaintly not that normal "clean the houses" we do everyday, we're going to took everything out and clean them, table, chairs, fans, computers,sewing machine, certains, blankets, pillows.... EVERY SINGLE THING in the house. And then clean the floors, stairs, doors, windows, yeah, use a wet cloths and wipe EVERY SINGLE CORNERS of them. It's like a total war this time around, really. Well, it's tiresome, but family members gather, do things and talk ( and play with water ), and say hi to your neighbour who are also doing the same things once in a while is also not bad, I'm having fun.

Out of all those works, the best and only activity I was looking for is making "Bánh Chưng ".

"Bánh Chưng" is a traditional Vietnamese rice cake which is made from... well, I don't know much about that so if you interested you can click the wiki link up there, I don't really like eating it so I don't care. What fun is, after wrapped we need to boil it overnight, in a big pot. Because the boiling time is very long ( more than 1 day ), and the pot is very big ( bigger than a person's hug ), certaintly we can not use our cooking gas stove to boiled it, so we need to make a temporary woodfire stove in our yard and keep the fire burning. This is a traditional activity, but people don't do this a lot nowadays, mostly just buy them from stores, but this year the Adults in our neighbourhood are all afraid of buying pre-made food from outside so they decided to gather and make a really big pot of Bánh Chưng for everyone. Do you know what is it mean, an OVERNIGHT CAMP FIRE FOR EVERYONE. Well, actually the woodfire only need 1 person to stay awake to keep it burning, and the adults can take turns to do it, we youngster have nothing to do with it BUT WHO CARE muahuahahaha.

So last night, we put some mats and chairs in the yard, near the wood fire, playing cards and boardgames all night, it had been long since the last time we youngster gather and play like this, without any electronics especially. It was super fun and a little part was not fun is I lost all my money change to all those games, dang, I'm so suck at these luck-realated games. Pass midnight, things calmed down a bit, people was getting hungry, there also a green nuts porridge pot was cooking right beside the "Bánh Chưng" pot, I'm not sure if this is also traditional or not, the green nuts is the leftover from "Bánh Chưng" ingredients, I see my neighbour also always cook it every year. But I'm not a fan of that poridge, so I came prepared, I took a small pot, a bowl, and 2 packs instant noodles with me, muahhahaha, my bestfriend don't want porridge too so she came and sat next to me when I was making it, asked if I can share her some, well, as if I can refuse.

I'm going to visit my hometown after this, so does she, we're going to not able to see each other for half a month, that's certaintly not a long time, and also it's not that rare for us to stay separate for a while, but for some reason, I did feel a bit upset about it at that moment. I only brought one bowl with me so I gave it her, and I ate directly from the pot, the pot was hot so I need to pick the noodle out, put it on the pot's lid and ate it from there, I can take another bowl from the porridge's group but I saw people eating like this in a Korean movies long time ago and always wanted to try it at least once, so I just did it, it was somehow very satisfied. While eating I couldn't help but stared at my bestfriend, this is a habit of mine, staring at her time to time, you will understand if you have a really pretty friend. Anyway our eyes met and she smiled at me, really, I swear my heart skipped one or two beat, that was not the first time and she also not the only one made my heart stopped working like this, pretty girls are really dangerous, no matter you're a guy or a girl, they can make your heart turning bad with just one small move, however, this time, her beautiful smile, blended in the firelight, hit me a really strong one this time. My mouth was stuffed with noodles so can not give her a smile back, but even if it was not, I doubt I could do it, my chopsticks hand was stopped in mid air too.

After a while trying hard to chew and swallow everything in my mouths, a moment of awkward for me, luckily she didn't realize it and kept eating her noodles, or may be she already used to me being like that, I don't know. Calmed down a bit, I told her "Let's call every day", she looked up to me, give me another smile "Let's !". I was almost killed.
