Description of Magic: Emil has always been sensitive towards the existence of all creatures, even after death. Everything deserves some sort of purpose for those living and passed, and when it comes to securing contracts with spirits or beasts the price is paid in offerings. The offerings must always bear some likeness to the deceased individual, and typically Emil will use their bones in an attempt to call upon them. He will channel their essence into the remains, carving into them Norse runic symbols to keep track and seal the essence inside. These token payments bind the pair for a time, however a more loyal summon will remain summoned for longer than one he has had minor contact with. Contracts he has had less contact with require more energy and mana to sustain, so he typically sticks with one spirit. Unsuccessful or mutual breaking of contracts will result in the bone crumbling into dust.
Generally Emil is partial towards spirits from his country, spirits of the dead or alleged mythological creatures as opposed to beasts that are living. His honest to goodness, curiosity and compassion for those passed is what draws and allows him to commune with them.

Since childhood, Emil has always been a polite and poised, altruistic boy; reserved in his mannerisms although he hides a soft heart and loose lips behind a reticent demeanor. In truth, he sports a face of indifference but his true personality is one of copious optimism, finding significant pleasure from the welfare and actions of anyone other than himself; as he holds an almost obsessive and limitless interest in creatures both living and dead. This endless pursuit of knowledge has always contributed to his scholarly excessive nature.
He could be described as eccentric, as his stoic and technical mannerisms and speech may come off as "mechanical", they are often misinterpreted as awkward, and as a result he tends to be off-putting to those he wishes to assist or get close to. BUT as mentioned before, Emil is amiable for the sole reason that he is surprisingly talkative once given the chance, having a tendency to become intrusive and empathetic whenever it comes to another's problems and emotions; he speaks pleasantly and is wholeheartedly genuine and sincere about any concerns he might spew. Because he aims for the betterment of others over himself, he can be very compliant, almost naive even--easy to place trust and faith in anyone that actually lets him linger for a moment longer.
This isn't to say that he is entirely air-headed or ignorant (though some might argue his humor borders on childlike innocence, and he is most definitely at times oblivious to atmospheres). He is modest and dutiful when it comes to work, eager to engross himself in studies or hobbies in place of actual living contact, which leads him to become exhausted, listless, and nonreactive. His lack of constant expression is a result of this strain, something he keeps up unconsciously, viable to change whenever excited or pained. It's most likely because he forgets to change his face to suit his emotions because he’s always feeling physically tired or lethargic, only keeping up his polite and cheerful ways because he is otherwise conscious of everything around him.

- He is very resourceful and conservative, having sympathy for the dead and living and hoping every creature has some reason for their life

• Hair is a lightish gray, bordering on periwinkle before turning to a dark blue at the tips. His eyes are teal and spacey. His body itself is above average build (sturdy for a mage, but he's still young), if only because he needs good stamina to sustain his summons. Any accessories he typically wears are fashioned from makeshift bone.
