To sum up the entire year's events, he'd have to write you a novel. Drastic changes, both internal and external, found their way around this lofty character in ways he finds he cannot sit idly and ignorant as he usually has. Yui finds his bearings, his resolve, his moralities constantly tested by the whims of this incorrigible school. It all ends up being rather suffocating, weighing what's right and what's wrong, the struggle to continue on in the absence of those around you. Though one thing has always been certain: while others wither and fall you must continue on. You must.

It's the heartaches that keep him going, make him stronger, be resolute where others falter.
