This was a commission for SonicHomeboy [link]Glad to have finally gotten that done.
Krystal and Fox's bathing suits were modeled after their suits in Starfox Assault. This might be the biggest picture I've ever done.....

The other two belong to the commissioner of the picture. They are not canon Starfox characters. :3

This picture some potential. You paint an impressive view from the beach out to the horizon, with a believable gradient in the water and lush clouds. The characters are drawn well enough, but I'm afraid the overall presentation falls short. The painting is sorely lacking in effects that enhance the feel of the scene. For starters, the tide looks fake. There are no waves to suggest the water is even moving, so why would there be foam? Can you explain the physics how Fox and co. can run across a beach without leaving any footprints or kicking up any sand? Even the shadows are missing! How could you forget that? Speaking of shadows, there are no lighting effects like sun rays or tinted colours to set the tone. Even the vegetation in the foreground looks paltry and redundant.
It may be 'the biggest picture' you've ever done, but it's lacking the sort of attention to detail that justifies the size. Not enough thought has been put into effects that help place the characters in the scenery, so the whole thing looks artificial, simplistic and ultimately a disappointment.

On a more serious note, the use of the word disappointment would imply that you had an expectation of this picture previous to having properly viewed it. I find it to be a poor choice of words since it not only misrepresents what you intend to say, but also provides nothing useful to the artist.
That being said, I suppose I too found disappointment when I realized that there is no end to the number of over-dramatic people on the internet.

What I meant is that I can see how this picture could have been so much better had the artist included the effects I mentioned in my previous post. The painting feels incomplete without them, which I find disappointing. Still, that's up to her to realize.

Well. I suppose I will take most of this as constructive criticism. I am constantly striving to better myself in art. Shadows is a weak point of mine, as was the sea foam and footprints. Which in the end I had to settle with what I had less I take too long on the commission. I have gotten better at clouds though thanks to this picture.
I will not however tolerate you calling my art artificial, simplistic and a disappointment. I think it turned out quite nice myself. Perhaps you meant for that last half to sound like constructive criticism instead of it sounding like an insult? It did however sound like an insult. I will keep your observations in mind and appreciate your honesty. But, for future reference, you came on a little strong.
