Description Acrylic on 115lb canvas paper - The texture is taking some getting used to, I like canvas and I like heavy watercolor paper, this stuff is very different from either of those...the first layers are like painting on vinyl, and it doesn't soak up at all...I like the general appearance (much better than flat paper) but the "feel" of the brush is a bit weird..
I got some large pads (misc brands and sizes), I'll probably run out more mushroom-themed small studies before I get into those...these little paintings are fun and relaxing

Thanks I'm a graphics guy and this is like layering procedural shader effects over geometry - rendering in 3d the old fashioned way

Thanks I'm getting into landscapes and organic stuff so this is sort of new for me...most of my previous work has been trying to replicate specific details (like for a portrait), and the landscapes are so loose and flexible the details can invent themselves..

Love your other stuff too, especially the dogs. I am new at it so trying everything until I find a medium and subject I am reasonably okay at!!  My ambition, to be a quarter as good as you.
