Story:
Noah pulled into the parking lot with a sigh of relief. It had been a long drive and he was eager to finally relax. He reached for the door handle, pausing to check that no one was watching. He had purposely arrived early in hopes that no one would be there to witness his failure to train a horse. It wasn't that Phoenix behaved badly, she was always on her best behavior when there was a chance for her to show off. It was the fact that the mare outright refused to go near any type of tack. Just the sight of a saddle or lead sent her into a full blown panic.
Noah had tried everything he could possibly think of to get her to calm down, but nothing worked. His friends had recommended euthanasia, after all, what's the point of a horse that can't work? Against all odds, Phoenix had shown a willingness to learn from Noah, even if he had no idea what he was doing half the time. They started entering every liberty show within driving distance and actually did pretty well. The only problem was her refusal to wear a halter or lead.
It wouldn't have bothered Noah if the other riders weren't so judgmental. Everyone had an opinion about how he dealt with his horse and everyone had some magical fix all solution. If people could just mind their business everything would be fine. Even if Phoenix was obediently walking beside him, he could still hear the not so quiet whispers. Thankfully, nobody was there yet and he could settle his horse in peace.
He walked around to the back of the old trailer, unlatching the door. Phoenix whickered softly in greeting. "Alright girl, Back Up." The mare happily complied, joining Noah outside the trailer and nuzzling her human's pockets in search of treats. "Good girl! he praised, handing her a treat. "Heel."

This took about 2 hours so I spent longer on this than I would've liked, but it turned out a lot better than I anticipated. The rust Isn't great but it was just a brush so that's to be expected.
