it's blueish-gray on my monitor :/

The attitude truly shines in the photo though, instant classic!

It's supposed to be grayish green pink yellow blue purple... I don't know. Color calibration makes me cry.

Have you seen 'ublic Enemies'? This would have fit very nicely in there. it brings you back to the '30 a bit, just that bank robbers at that time didn't strut their stuff ,due to lack of time and freedom

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 09:34:02 +0000 UTC]

LOL! Yeh, that whole being locked up thing leaves little time for strugging. Plus those prison uniforms aren't very flattering

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 13:29:08 +0000 UTC]

I know!!! I can't believe he hasn't won an Oscar yet! He's such a brilliant actor and one of the best character creators in Hollywood, in my opinion! He deserves to win one!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-22 14:10:23 +0000 UTC]

I know! After watching yet again a movie he's brilliant in,I keep asking myself how blind those academy people are?
He can pretty much do anything and be amazing doing it..it's fantastic

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 14:55:13 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely! I mean, honestly, can you think of any other characters that are as iconic as Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd. The list goes on and on. He's a master at creating characters that people remember and he should be commended for that! The Academy are not so academic after all

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-22 18:35:30 +0000 UTC]

And I can't believe he was even nominated 3 times... I mean seriously now, someone manages one good role and they win,and this guy constantly delivers amazing stuff without consequence.

In any case,I guess the world knows by now what he can do,but a bit of appreciation wouldn't do any harm at all.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 18:51:42 +0000 UTC]

It's pathetic, to be quite honest. He so deserves the recognition for his ability as an actor!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-22 19:35:27 +0000 UTC]

If I were him I'd start refusing to attend the oscars, tho I guess he's got enough brain not to care about such things by now.
Guess we have to wait and hope he wins something before he ends his career...which I'm hoping happens sometime after the next 3 decades

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 19:55:14 +0000 UTC]

Hell yes! They need to wake up and smell the talent! They're a bunch of morons. I mean, what the hell were they thinking when they gave "Lost in Translation" an award? The idea was lost on me!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-22 20:01:53 +0000 UTC]

The criteria they pick winners by escapes me completely...sometimes you can get it and sometimes you're just left wondering if there's something wrong with your perception
Tho I tend to think all these things that get awarded by a 'competent' jury are the most stupid of all. I'm willing to bet on the fact that if they'd let the normal folk pick, the winners would be 80%(at least) different.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 20:07:47 +0000 UTC]

Yep. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the would reward Lost in Translation an award. It's the biggest load of bullcrap I've ever seen!

It's an hour and a half of my life that I'll NEVER get back. Bastards!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-22 20:41:42 +0000 UTC]

Well see,I saw the trailer and kept that hour and a half for myself. But I did sacrifice it on other crap since... One valuable lesson has been learned though,I've stopped going to movies just because they won an oscar, made that mistake a few times.

I'm suspecting the more unintelligible a movie is,the more acclamation it gets.I'm thinking that jury likes to feel philosophical when discussing a load of bull, and since nobody knows what it's about they can all feel speshul

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-22 20:59:49 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely! My rule of thumb is that if it won an Oscar, it's probably crap

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-23 08:19:46 +0000 UTC]

Wise rule my friend. But we both wasted too many hours of our lives to come to that conclusion. Someone should run around with a disclaimer "Beware of oscar movies, they rob life"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-23 08:21:22 +0000 UTC]

Hahahaha! Amen to that! I very rarely listen to other peoples' opinions on movies. I prefer to watch them myself and make up my own mind.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-23 09:36:14 +0000 UTC]

I take that even further and sorta block down to movies that everyone is crazed about. For example when Twilight came out ,I stayed away from it for quite a while.Too much publicity ruins it for me . I'd rather see it in my own time

FuzzyYak In reply to IoanaZ [2009-08-23 15:49:32 +0000 UTC]

Erm. Yah, that was... er... bleh.

IoanaZ In reply to FuzzyYak [2009-08-23 17:14:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah see,had I judged by the amount of girlies drooling over the unwashed vampire,I would have run to see it.And that's not the only example of unexplained mass hysteria
