This wasn't the first set in the shoot, but it's definitely my favourite!

Three lights were used for this shot. I had a Yongnuo YN560 Speedlite in a 60cm square softbox right above him, about 30cms or so away from his face and two Canon Speedlite 580EX II flashes in 2 meter high strip boxes with grids on. The lights at the back were at 1/16th power and the main was... well, on about four lights (It doesn't quite indicate the power in an easy to read way, but it works! )

I'm really happy with the lighting in this one! I've been experimenting with ratios on the lights to get just that little bit of rim light and in this shoot I dropped the back lights from the usual 1/8th power to 1/16th. That seemed to give me just that little sliver of light that I've been looking for, so I'm really chuffed that I found the "sweet spot"... as it were
