"The Approach to Mount Erebus", with deep, rich red and maroon tones, shows a Hellish landscape, with a distant background within which we see an imposing and sinister-looking yellow castle which dominates the land around it. Note the single mounted cavalier slowly crossing the rocky bridge in the foreground. I really sought to create an unbelievably surreal view with this one, of great distance as well as harshness. Incidentally, the title comes from a level out of Episode III: Inferno of the original Doom.
