Description
Cloud Gate aka The BeanMillennium Park, Chicago, IL.
So me and my friends went for a trip up to Chi. It as one of my friends birthdays so we went up there to have some fun and eat at Ed Debevics, really interesting restaurant. I didn't do a whole lot of shooting, I'll leave that for a warmer day and when I can go by myself and spend several hours up there running around the city taking pics.
This is a shot of the Bean, true name "Cloud Gate". It's this huge mirror finish sculpture of a bean shapped figure, reflecting the downtown skyline and clouds above. It's a really cool site to see. A lot of people take pictures of this sculpture which makes most shots "cliche". I went for a more original shot and played with the flash a little to get the interesting lighting effects. I think it turned out really well and I think it's a fun abstract to look at.
EDIT(12/27/2010): Whoa, woke up this morning to a nice surprise, Daily Deviation

You know it's not really called, "the Bean", right?

Uhhh... yea.... Eh, everyone calls it the Bean, so it's the bean. They also call it Willis Tower now, but who actually calls it that, it will always be the Sears Tower
Same thing with Comisky Park

hmmm, i must admit that i envy you a little for this one. because this summer i did some experimenting with metal bowls to get some interesting mirror effects, but wasn't satisfied with the results...
DD well deserved for this very fine shot - congrats...
