Trainers/NPCs who block off roads/entrances/etc are normally impenetrable, btw. You can't pokemon battle them/ shove them away.

Normally, the Strength move/HM allows your Pokemon to move boulders around. ...Let's just say that the strength needed to move boulders around could be of good use in other situations too, yo
