And then came ORAS, where you could get a smeargle with pay day AND happy hour, give it luck incense/an amulet coin, AND use o-power prize money level 3.

That is why I have subscribed to the theory that trainers just shit out money to give you. That's the ONLY way!

Oh my goodness, yes and then if it had also used that move which doubles the money... Too bad, I'd love to know what happens in a PokΓ©mon game when you beat somebody but he can't pay back because he doesn't have that much. XD

OH, and I used Pay Day, Happy Hour, and Prize Money O-Power MAX.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

HeraldOfOpera In reply to AnonymousGX [2017-05-26 15:26:17 +0000 UTC]

Pay Day explicitly just shoots coins everywhere for you to pick up, Happy Hour was first given out on a Psychic-Type so it's probably some form of mind control, and the O-Power... well, okay, you have a point with that one, at least.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AnonymousGX In reply to HeraldOfOpera [2017-05-26 17:20:55 +0000 UTC]

But where do the Pay Day coins come from...?

Happy Hour is Psychic-type, that's true. But only 3 Pokemon (4 if you're Protean technical) of the 13 who can have it are Psychic typed. And don't forget, Agility is also Psychic instead of Normal or Fighting, so the logic is a bit flawed.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

HeraldOfOpera In reply to AnonymousGX [2017-05-26 17:32:02 +0000 UTC]

In order:

It doesn't really matter, because they don't come from the opposing trainer. You can get them even when you're fighting wild PokΓ©mon.

A move being found mostly found on PokΓ©mon of a different type than the one it has doesn't change what that type means (and Extrasensory is an actual Psychic-Type attack with the same property to boot.)

Agility's description is "The user relaxes and lightens its body to move faster," or, in other words, it does something mental and tells physics to GTFO (especially since it doesn't actually reduce the user's weight like the otherwise mechanically identical Autotomize does.) Sounds like a Psychic-Type move to me.

Lycramosa [2017-05-26 01:46:39 +0000 UTC]

It's really a magnet that attracts all the loose change on the opponent and it somehow equals double what they were going to pay XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Usyra [2017-05-26 01:36:37 +0000 UTC]

See, I never assumed it was the trainer who paid the player. I assumed it was an automated payment by the officials who run the league (Kanto, Johto, etc) to reward the trainers' contributions to the industry. That's why the player never loses money if they're beaten.

Though why the Amulet Coin doubles that is still beyond me.

Well yes because the Amulet Coin makes it so that you get more money when you have a Pokemon in the first party hold on to it.Β

Considering that move was first given out on Inkay, I assume it's a mild form of mind control.
