You're absolutely right. Some of my watercolors have not correct technique but they have a more life than those where more rules because have got more soul

The best artist to teach me watercolour had such a great use of of the medium that it changed my perception towards it...!
Apparently rules in watercolour are a fairly recent installment....the master painters would explore the medium without rules to hinder them and this resulted in some fantastic results! So i now throw caution to the wind that results in purely emotional results!

Working from life is awesome...whenever I travel I always take the chance to bring a sketchbook along and paint on the spot....better than a camera, wouldn't you agree? This is one of my outdoor painting when I was in Tasmania [link]
