Wow, neat, really nice. I do 3D too... great job. This was done in a 3D app I assume? Cheers! (See my own space picture I've done in the past: [link]

OK. So most of the render was done in 3D (what app?) and then imported into PS to adding the spaceship's exhaust trail and so forth?

well i just created simple ball in 3d max, then i put there texture (creature by myself in photoshop) and rendered it...

Ah, OK, and the rest of it was done in PS? Nice job!

OK, wow... you're welcome!
If you don't mind, I want to clarify one thing: you created a sphere in 3DS Max - did you apply the sphere's texture there, or paint it on in Photoshop? Or paint the tex in PS and import as an image tex to 3DS Max, applied it to the sphere, and saved a render of the sphere with the tex?

create simple ball in 3dmax, texturize it with texture (created in photoshop) and render it ....save it .... then you'll have some saved texturized ball.... this ball then put into photoshop add shadow/lighting and you have planet

Ah ha, I see. Makes perfect since, except why wouldn't you do the lighting in 3DS Max? Continuity with the painting? It's not that hard to get good lighting in PS?

GabrielGajdos In reply to artislight [2009-02-20 07:54:25 +0000 UTC]
well its because i dont know what lighting i want in that moment.... i usually change many things in pictures during making

artislight In reply to GabrielGajdos [2009-02-20 16:14:26 +0000 UTC]
Right, I gotcha. That makes sense. It just seems easier to set up the lighting on the sphere before you bring it into Photoshop, but if it works, it works. Cheers!

Ah, I see. lol.
There's always a time to learn! And if in doubt, check out Blender [link] (it's what I use - open source and great.) Thanks. (it has a big learning curve, tho.)
