Description Yay, finally got this colored. I ended up doing both linearts before the coloring, so it feels like each one took twice as long (especially since I can't color the second until I finish up the Goblet Commissions @_@) It seemed like everything was against these comms getting done, but thankfully Dembo was sweet enough not to kill me while life sort of crashed around my ears.

I was being adventurous with the coloring so tell me what you think. I've never tried the back light thing, or the orange light thing... so yeah. o___o It was fun--a bit nerve wracking--but fun. ^^ The moonscape was surprisingly easy given I hadn't really tried such detail on a, err... planet? type thing before. Oh--and omg the lines didn't give me any shit! XD I picked a transparency and didn't fiddle or fight to paint over or anything. Yay! <3

O.O Ya mean no one's commented on this yet? For shame.

Actually looked up this picture because the authors can't stop praising you, so here I am. I love your style, especially on the Inuyasha characters! You have an excellent portrayal of them in the modern times, which can be hard to do (I've seen some of the not so great attempts). ^^

Inuyasha is my favorite in this one, probably has to do with the clothes you've put him in. Sexy and still very much him.

I'm pretty sure that's Koga on the left, but he's hard to recognize with the short hair. Guess that goes to show how much he's defined by that hair of his, lol.

The background is wonderful too! I'm not sure what's causing the orange light, but I love the effect!

Wow, really cool! Great to see you still finding and trying new things for coloring! The lighting/shading looks very cool, you did a wonderful job with it! I actually really like the city in the far background under the moon, it plays really well with the city buildings you have closer up and looks great next to the moonlit water.

I haven't watched Inuyasha in forever. It was one of the first anime's I ever saw, mainly becuase it was the only one I knew existed at the time and my friend was nuts over it XD.

Can I send this on to a couple friends? I'm sure they'll love it^^

Oh! I didn't even realize those were Inu Yasha characters at first. I'm not too fond of the show (it's a good show, but didn't interest me enough to continue watching). Shippou was my favorite.<3

This is a really cool concept. I like it when people put fantasy characters in a modern setting. It doesn't suit Seshoumaru, but Inu and the other guy look awesome like that. Their skin tones look warm and yummy. Their clothes are drawn really well too! Aaaand the background just dazzles me. The moon/planet looks gorgeous and so does the building. I think you did a great job with the lighting!

GabrielleKelly In reply to Hyura [2007-04-17 23:55:49 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, well I personally think the only thing that suits Sesshoumaru is stripping him of all his clothes and-- hehe >3 I like fanart and fics that go all AU; it gives a dimension to the characters that usually the original source didn't have time, or space to do. I love characterization in stories. Oi, and thanks about the lighting! the orange was really new for me, but I think it worked all right.

YaY! As coauthor of IYPI, I give this my stamp of approval XD

I LOVE how Sessomaru looks like a true yakuza with his style and hair. It reminds me of Fei Long from the Finder series. And you've beautifully captured Kouga's sense of fashion.

Personally, I like the lighting in the background. It adds to the original mood we were aiming for in the story...but kind of missed cuz our writing styles didn't agree. LoL.

[link]

THAT is the Finder series. Yamane draws the best bishounens ever (sighs dreamily)

[link]

And That is where you should buy the book, cuz BeBeautiful overcharges.

I think the reason the story seems to have one voice is because Dembo and I have beta'd the hell out of each others stuff in the past, so we know the other's writing style well enough to fit into it....or something like that.

GabrielleKelly In reply to AhjaReyn [2007-04-20 08:07:41 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I have an artbook by that artist. <3 I can see why you like the series.

It's great that you two know each other enough to be able to write well together. I really don't know how you do it; I can understand bouncing ideas and brainstorming with someone, but I think I'd have a hard time actually writing with someone. (I'm really stubborn creatively >_< and erratic, at that) You two create well together. I've seen some really lacking co-authored stories out there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DEMBO In reply to GabrielleKelly [2007-04-22 07:29:00 +0000 UTC]

Oh god, you just HAD to say that about the Finders Series... (is surprised you didn't get more links from her X_X) Ahh, anyway.

Actually co-writing isn't all that bad. I mean, I didn't start writing with Reyn until after we knew each other pretty well. Not to mention we betad for eachother before then so we knew how the other wrote. Our writing style is actually pretty similar, but there are obvious differences I think people can see. Reyn's humor is more light and fun, while mine is sometimes crude and dark (and insane X_X). And yes, you are really stubborn creatively! Stupid stubborn creative person! XD But yeah, we STARTED off doing the "brainstorming and bouncing ideas off of" each other and then went into writing together. It's fun! We fight over things of course, but that's to be expected. Our common goal, however, is to write a great fic that people will enjoy so that helps us when we have a disagreement (that and I usually give in T_T... no I'm actually not much of a pushover when it comes to fics XD)

My new goal in life is to write a one-shot (cause you wouldn't be able to stand me any longer than that; and vice versa XD jk!!!) with you before I DIE! Muwhaha!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GabrielleKelly In reply to DEMBO [2007-04-22 19:28:34 +0000 UTC]

Gah, I'm getting better! I've made a rule that I'm not allowed to be stubborn when doing commissions. Did I say a word about changing the Inu's eyebrows? No! You have no clue how much I wanted to keep them white. XD I'm trying, okay? It just sometimes takes me a while to get over my awesome (so joking) self enough to listen to other people. >_<

Double gah! I tried to write a oneshot on my own very recently. It's now... broken into 4 parts. I'm a plot whore and very new to writing so we already have a problem. I won't refuse (because that would be stubborn) buuttt... I wouldn't recommend it...

I'm sorta glad you two fight a bit. It makes the whole thing a little more realistic in my mind. Do you do it chapter by chapter, pick a character to be the voice of, or sort of work together through the whole thing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DEMBO In reply to GabrielleKelly [2007-04-22 21:29:42 +0000 UTC]

LMAO!!! Wow, really, truly? You wanted to keep their eyebrows white?!! Oh man, even if you HAD said that you really thought they should be white, I wouldn't relent on that like I did with Kouga's hair (I'm still being stubborn about that, damnit!!) XD Awesome self... well, you are pretty awesome, though a bit stubborn (pokes you) but I love you for that as well!

Yeah, yeah. You don't suggest. Bleh. I know what you mean though. I think I've only ever written... two one-shots... and they both ended up ridiculously long X_X We can try to write something together sometime, and if it doesn't work out, then that's fine, too lol. (we may kill each other! *gasp!*)

Yeah, we fight a lot actually when it comes to co-writing InuYasha, P.I. We work chapter by chapter (the entire outline, for the most part, is done thanks to Reyn), and, while it seems like it'd be easy to RP, that's not what we do. We usually write until we don't wanna anymore, and then send it to the other, who betas the hell out of it, adds stuff within what the other wrote, adds to where the other stopped, and then sends it back, and that whole process happens all over again. So eventually by the last draft (like, draft 10 XD) our styles and individual voices are fairly combined by that point. However, when one of us writes a chapter by ourselves you can usually tell the difference if you know either of our works/style of writing.

For example- Reyn wrote chapter 8 by herself, and I added a phrase here and there (I lost interest in IYPI for a while which is why it took so long to update). Compare that to chatper 1 and 2 (which I wrote on my own) and you can somewhat tell the difference if you know either one of us, you know?

But seriously, if you were to read or have ever read Reyn's stuff, and then read mine, you can tell we're two different authors with different humor takes as well. Though when we combine our stuff it has a new voice, so to say. If that makes sense... o.O;;

GabrielleKelly In reply to DEMBO [2007-04-22 22:19:41 +0000 UTC]

That's my new promise, no killing Dembo. It'll be a difficult goal, but I'll try reallly hard! XD

Well, going into reading IYPI I hadn't known 2 different people were writing, so I think my brain just automatically compensated for it. I think for the most part, people reading co-written stuff do that, unless there are huge differences in the writing styles. So, although you two may see huge differences, as a reader outside the whole development and creation of the project, it seems pretty fluid to me. Loved the new chapter btw. I still have problems with the sort of manga/anime humor being put into a more complicated format like that, but I'm getting used to it, and found myself laughing at things I normally wouldn't.

DEMBO In reply to GabrielleKelly [2007-04-23 13:12:09 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that makes sense. We're obviously just THAT awesome! Muwaha! I'll admit, I had trouble accepting the anime-humor being put into the fic odd at first, that was Reyn's thing, but since it's anime... bleh, I've gotten more used to it. (sigh) It's nothing huge and difficult usually just... face vaulting and such XD

WAH! Whadda ya mean it'll be a really difficult goal?!!? ...(grumble)... well at least you'll try really hard... I guess... (GLARE!) XD

Seriously, I'm so loving Inuyasha's coat! I knew I wanted it to be based off of his fire-rat outfit in the manga/anime but... I mean, seriously, a "fire truck red" trenchcoat would be even more gaudy than his outfit was in the Edo period, never mind the modern era! XD I'm sooo glad we came up with the dark red! It's very flattering on him (nods).

And I'm still completely taken away by Sesshomaru's outfit and hair. I absolutely love the purple scarf and other violet colors smoothed about him (including the tie!).

As for Kouga... ARGH! [(ilovehow...)] THOSE RED HIGHLIGHTS PISS ME OFF! (meep!) XX*D (Man, I love teasing you). Don't worry, I jest need to get used to them (or at least have more than 2 hours of sleep to fully appreciate them (nodnod))

This is simply AMAZING. I'm seriously looking forward to the PLCC one! If only those damn Goblets wouldn't have gotten in the way! (is seriously considering going to have a talk with the owner/creator, damnit, and give her a piece of my mind!!... *shifty eyes* ...<_< ... >_>... *blink*... I'd be... yelling at myself... wouldn't I? Does that seem strange to you? o.O;;;; ) LMAO.

In any case, absolutely gorgeous!

*mock strangles the Dembo* It-is-the-orange-lighting! XD His hair is still blue tinted, you just can't tell because of the lighting. *rants in a corner* ...I think I got a gray hair because of you. O_o

I love that you pick out all the good stuff. At the moment I'm trying not to fret about the parts that bother me... although if I'm honest, like a year ago it would have been something big, like a whole arm and upper body being wrong or something. Nothing really feels wrong to me, at least. I'm glad we went with the white coat, it really helped balance the white of the other two's hair.

I yell at myself... not angry, more like 'wtf are you thinking' or 'stop being a dumbass and deal' stuff. So yeah, I understand. I'm working on the Goblets as I type... but the downstairs of my house is filling up with water because of the rain (it hasn't rained in a while so the soil isn't absorbing like it should) so I need to do some vacuuming before I'd dare turn my PC on. :/ 'Course I'm the only one with the room downstairs.

Ooh, yes, I agree! The white coat does help with the two white haired inus. And hey! I picked out one bad thing (in my mind) those damn red things in Kouga's hair!! (doesn't bother me now that I'm a bit saner with more hours of sleep but I just like hounding you). I honestly don't see anything wrong with the picture, Iono what the fark you're fretting over (which parts bother you and why?). It's purtyful! My friend even said it's SO AMAZING! Luckily we have a nice big wet/dry vacuum just for the insanity. I was dumping it out and my foot went through the dirt up to my calf. :/ Damn muddy rain. We live on a mountain sort of deal below the tree line, so the soil is thin and the rest is rock underneath. Water goes down the mountain and straight for our basement. Thankfully not in my room. O_O Still a bitch to clean. We're thinking of ripping up the rug and putting in tile; it's much easier to clean that way (and slip and break something.)

lmao. The closest thing I've had to water invading my home (here) was when I blew up the washing machine (along with the shower drain and the water heater) and water went EVERYwhere downstairs. Thankfully there's tile down there... but unthankfully... I didn't have enough towels to fling every which way... so I...um.. kinda just started to throw clothes from the laundry room on the ground as well... o.O;;;; .... which, unfortunately for me, belonged to my aunt... who leaves her everything here... and and... oh god, don't do that if you have no where to put the water you're supposed to wring out of the clothes/towels.... and instead give up and dump them in... *cough* ...trash bags and throw them outside in the garage... never to be heard from again!!!
