Description
Happy Easter everyone and more importantly, Happy Spring!That springy feeling suddenly hit me (with an oily complextion at that, damn weather XP ) and I realized it wouldn't be quite spring without me picking up the markers and making one of my purple-haired elves. ^___^ Not quite sure why it would make it complete, it's kinda nostalgia or something. *shrug* Anywho, I was half expecting this to be a disaster, can't even remember the last time I inked something with pen and nib never mind the last time I pulled out the markers. @_@ Surprisingly, it's rather good if I do say so myself. The scanner naturally butchered it but even so, not bad enough that I want to go in and fix it digitally. I dunno... I think I was a little worried that I was getting too reliant on that little undo function, I've been doing digital for a long time now. It's refreshing to do something where mistakes can happen and there's nothing I can do about it, just keep on going-- Wai, and I've missed having that piece of paper to hold once I'm done! Sure I could always print my pics out of the computer but there's something nice about having the original where it all happened to look at. Like the paper itself holds the life of the picture. Not sure what to do with it though >_> I gave the other marker pics away to family members so it feels weird to keep this one.
Copic Sketch Markers, 6-8 hours
I need a bloody colorless blender! Seriously, this would have been so much easier with one.

There's a certain weight to a traditional piece that you can't really hold with a digital one, and even though digital is my favorite traditional usually has a more fun process and can be a bit more rewarding in the end. I know exactly how you feel about that X3
And aren't purple-haired elves the embodiment of spring? It totally makes sense

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I AM FILLED WITH LOVE FOR THIS! IT'S SO ADORABLE! And scanners are always evil, love. The huge egg and those soulful eyes, oh and the colors, it's sooo cute! It makes me feel maternal and silly.

Awww... so cute!! And it is Easter weekend, isn't it... XD;
You did a really wonderful job, though! It's always refreshing to find some traditional media amongst all the digital these days, and you were really working those markers~ It looks very awesome.

Hahaha, aw man that is so cute! ^_^
You did a fantastic job shading the skin tones! I also really like how you did the patch of grass for some reason! XD
And yeah I agree, that there is just something different about having a hard copy of art in your hands vs. a pic on the screen.
Happy Spring to you too!
