Whenever I see the entrance of this cave now, I'm scared, and I can't escape the thoughts about all the nightmares that are hidden down there. I always wonder how much this great ongoing story is inspired by the pictures, and how deeply the pictures are connected with Joe's story, and this fascinating collaboration is so intense that the world of Locke & Key feels almost real sometimes - at least when I'm lucky enough to free the child in my soul. When I do, I try to follow the others down the secret and maybe long forgotten stairs, and nothing would stop me 'cause this child of mine is really curious! Free at last to do whatever I want to do, and if something's dangerous, it's always also an adventure.

Uno de los aspectos que más me gusta es la limpieza con que están definidos los distintos planos y elementos de la composición. Con ese nivel de detalle podría haberse recargado el paisaje ocultándose el niño. O la gaviota se habría fundido con el fondo, pero está todo definido como en una imagen cinematográfica.
Qué nivel de técnica!

El peñón con la gruta del fondo está basado en una locación real, de la costa de Massachusetts. Cerca de Nahant, pueblo que sirvió de referencia para la creación de Lovecraft, sitio donde está ambientada la historia de Locke & Key...
