These are the initial character sketches and background (which I might change if I feel like...) for my Animation Pre-Production class at RIT.My story is about a girl and her "cow." [lol]
Critiques welcome. Mary Lou's character design will pretty much stay the same, but I'll take comments and suggestions on the Bessie and the scenery. I didn't quite have enough spare time to mess around with a bunch of different designs, so critiques welcome!

So, like...do farmers abduct alien cows? Or are there some kind of double aliens that come and abduct them from the regular aliens?

Well... you know cow abductions. The thing is that they're not really cow abductions. They're rescue missions, because some cows are actually aliens on a scouting trip. XP

I think the problem with the cow is maybe the noodle legs. If you look at Mary, she's got little chunky, stubby legs and the cow is big and has noodley legs. Maybe try making the cow have thicker limbs and then instead of hoofs, give it like cartoony hands when it stands up (ex: the 4-fingered glove look). WHATEVER YOU DO DONT CHANGE THE FACE! XD Though the cow had me cracking up. It's funny. The scenery is great tho!

I'm thinking the cow needs to look more stylized or something. Mary Lou has a great style to her (I love the shape of her legs), but the cow seems really basic, they almost don't seem to fit together. Maybe try giving the cow more shape to her?

You know, that's the second time someone told me to redesign that cow. The first time it was too realistic. Now it's too something not quite right. My class didn't seem to have that much of a problem with it, but I will try to tweak it a little to give it more shape.
