Gah. The image quality... SO BAD.... Ah, dang crappy digital camera.This was a final project for my Drawing III class. That assignment? Draw whatever you want, in whatever medium, in whatever size. So not cool.
I decided to do a self portrait because the one from last quarter was so horrendous and looked nothing like me. (That's why it's not up here. ;D ) But this one actually turned out pretty nice. It's on 30 x 40 rag paper, so it's pretty big. Done in chalk pastels. I wish the quality of the image was better. My sweater is not that sharp and silly looking in real life. It's much softer. GAH digital cameras. XD

You did something cool with how you balanced warm and cool saturation from region to region in the picture, just can't exactly put my finger on it

What was the hardest thing to detail there?

Well, nothing, really. Mostly because there's not much detail, only a suggestion of detail. So I didn't really spend much time with that. Just getting basic shapes and colors down and that makes it seem like there's more detail than there really is. But the most annoying thing to do was the background. ugh.

I wanted to make a weirder face, but settled for the smirk because I didn't want to hold it for hours, looking back and forth to the mirror constantly. Bleh.
