"Quick" watercolor painting done for my AP Portfolio. Everyone told me that the style looked just like a storybook illustration because of the way I painted it. I like to think that it does, too, just to make myself feel cool. 8)

It's an old man walking through a mountainous valley carrying a city from his back. This is a symbolic piece, so feel free to analyze the symbols I put into the artwork.

My sister, ~babygomamon, told me that the idea reminded her of Atlas, the god who carries the world on his shoulders. And I thought, yeah, it kind of does. Except this guy is old and decrepit instead of big and burly, and only has a city compared to the world. But beyond that, her statement made me think about the title, so I called the old man "Salta," which, obviously, is Atlas backwards.
