FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE JUST LET THIS CHILD BE HAPPY TATUghhh, I've been listening to waaaay too much of the Undertale OST recently. I listened to it all in a row a couple of nights ago and I felt so emotional afterwards, god help me when I actually get the game XD (which I am planning once I get my computer sorted out)

I'm getting more into sketching and digital art, so seeing how you clearly know what you're doing, do you have any advice on how I could add more detail to lighting and color? This is where my digital art skill's at right now.

Well, unless your using a transparent background, I'd say, plan where the light is coming from before attempting to add any shading. For the shading itself, I'd look up a Tutorial

That color tip could really help! Alas, good ol' genetics cursed me with moderate deuteranomaly and minor protanomaly. Using multiple colors is going to be a real pain. Green, light brown, dark orange, dark yellow; they might as well be the same exact color. I could settle for extra vibrancy, but that'll subtract from my more realistic drawings.
And I'm glad to hear you like my pic! However, I - rather surprisingly - don't really see that deviation as much of an accomplishment. I honestly see it more as a learning experience. It shows what I'm currently capable of and reveals what aspects I can improve on. It also allows me to develop a personal art style!

Perhaps you could try drawing in monochrome? (black and white). I've never been much good at it digitally, but you'd be surprised how effective it can be, with shading in particular.
My best deviations are often a learning experience, they can either be for better or for worse, but usually it's very fun to try something new

Nah, monochrome art always makes me think of the artist as some pretentious douche trying too hard to be deep. Regardless of who the artist is, that's just how I always interpret it. I dunno.Β Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

Yeah, blue and yellow do seem like safe havens for me. I could probably use blue in dark/shaded environments and yellow in natural-lit environments. Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!
