The real answer is that Darren's reaction would be entirely dependent upon how well he got to know Amy from PMD-Explorers. Know that in Chapter 2 of Rescue Number 301, after rescuing Amy there, he seemed to sort of forget about her until she landed in the hospital in Chapter 3? He even explains it in the final chapter by saying, "You know, when we rescue people, we hardly see them much anymore. They get their class schedules, make friends, live their lives at the base…sometimes, they say hi to us when we pass them, but most of the time, they forget about us. And we forget about them, because we're always too busy focusing on how to deal with the next one."

If he were to meet PMD-Explorers Amy, he would be even more apathetic toward her due to her accessory overload. BUT, if he were to get to know her better, I imagine he'd get along with her just as well as the Pokeumans Amy.

Oh, and for those who were wondering, Pokeumans Amy doesn't have any accessories for several reasons.

The first is to mirror how I didn't care very much for fashion when I was 10 years old.
The second is to represent her much more serious attitude, in contrast to PMD-Explorers Amy, who, while still serious, also can have moments of occasional silliness.
The third is a practical one. It allows her to use Rollout on the ground, in contrast to PMD-Explorers Amy, who can only use Rollout in midair (or else she'll tear her bow to shreds).
