Let’s jump on the MLP headcanon/redesign bandwagon!

Now, this is a TEST for HCs/redesigns of these characters. I’m probably not going to draw them like this. Maybe I’ll remake this with updated designs, but considering how long it took with that colored lineart (it doesn’t even have shading), I probably won’t, or at least not very soon.

So these are my. . . prototype designs for the princesses, if you will. Flurry Heart isn’t here pretty much because I don’t know what I want to do with her yet. As I mentioned earlier, these are not their final designs in my headcanon (which may or may not be a thing, we’ll see), so I don’t have a lot of written headcanon material, either. I’ll give it a try, I guess.

On the far left is Princess Celestia, goddess of the sun, light, and fire. It may be fun to give her multiple names but I don’t feel like looking for any right now. She rules Equestria with her sister, Luna. Her lifespan is tied to the sun; as long as it lives is as long as she lives.

To the right of her is Princess Luna, goddess of the moon, darkness, and water (bc why not). It may be fun to also give HER multiple names but not now. She rules Equestria with her sister, Celestia. Her lifespan is tied to the moon; as long as it stays in one piece, she stays alive. If a meteor takes a good chunk out of it, she might be weak for a little while but will probably be fine after that. If it falls apart into dust . . . yeah, no, we don’t talk about that

Okay now I literally can’t picture anything except Celestia suddenly coming into existence with the sun and watching Equus develop and then Luna comes into existence when a meteor knocks stuff off Equus and that becomes the moon and by then she’s just like “gasp she’s like a small me but a whole lot bluer” (as in they’re both the only alicorns at that point) and takes her in as a sister

IT’S MINE YOU CAN’T TAKE IT FROM ME—

Next is Empress Mi Amore Cadenza, who often goes by Cadence. She’s an empress because she rules over the Crystal EMPIRE with Shining Armor, duh. She is, however, often called a princess (especially when her and one or more of the other princesses are being mentioned at once). Her power is tied to the Crystal Heart, although it is unclear whether or not her lifespan is tied to it as well. She grows weak when the Crystal Heart grows weak, and the Crystal Heart grows weak when morale drops in the Crystal Empire.

And last but not least is Princess Twilight Sparkle, who may also do other things besides princess things, I guess. She studies magic, and by extension studies friendship, or so I would like to think. Her power is tied to magic itself, although it is unclear how so, and to the stars (excluding the sun) (which are technically under Luna’s domain but STILL). Her lifespan is unclear.
