canon Jake is sorta naive. He thought Christine actually died during the sophomore year production of Romeo and Juliet, and he didn't know the term for "bow" and I assume this is due to his lack of parentage and his drive to wanna be so good at everything it probably sorta kills how good he truly is at these things
i really love jake i would never call him dumb he's just naive
