Description
You know what happens when you mix a recent obsession with drawing humans and the best robot?This.
This is what happens.
I've been practicing humans like a mad woman, so this was kind of inevitable- it's far from perfect, but I like where the improvement is going. Also messing around with line art styles recently and while this isn't technically my goal, I kind of like the sketchy look for these rough portrait-esque pieces. Let's me focus on the colors and shading and form more than the lines ^^
I really love 's version of humanized Shard, so that was a big inspiration for starting out on my own design, particularily with the glasses idea and also his serious case of pretty boy face. oops>. This is the first time I've been happy with my more personalized rendition of him
Design notes:
- Robian Shard has big features- big nose, big eyes, big mouth especially- so giving him large features as a human only makes sense. Only thing that's really slim are his eyebrows, given that his Robian self lacks them entirely.
- Silver stud earrings to mimic the bolts on the side of his face as a Robian.
-Very self concious, particularily regarding his eyes, hence the glasses. Irises emote/project onto glasses, usually.
-Boasts a mighty fohawk, mimics his spines.Nicole plays with it a lot
-A less relevant note, but humanized!Shard is tall, standing at 6'2".

I originally did Sonic gijinkas to do more human practice and now I really love drawing them, so it's funny to see you doing the same thing! It's a great way to have fun with it.

I absolutely agree with you. There are a lot of different ways to approach the same characters and how translate their designs accordingly. I think that's part of what makes it so enjoyable, trying to do what hasn't been done before is half the challenge!

Logically, that makes sense for sure. I personally kind of see him as similar in body type to Sonic, ironically. Built(hurr hurr) but not quite buff. He definitely has some robot muscle, but he's waaaaaay stronger than he looks. All things considered, he's actually kind of scrawny and unimpressive looking xD
