Hello everyone! Today we are going to venture into The Brigade's past, and relive one of its darker moments. The Battle of Mortwake, was one of the first Brigade's larger engagements, that sparked an all-out war between The Brigade and the Defias Brotherhood. Saroje Vex, a young blood elven paladin took command of a hastily assembled taskforce, that was supposed to negotiate, or eventually - to rescue a group of hostages. These poor souls have been held by the Defias Brotherhood thugs at the abandoned tower in southern Westfall.

The squad arrived to the location, only to find out that the hostages have been murdered without any negotiations taking place. Saroje Vex ordered The Brigade to storm the place, a move, that resulted in casualties on The Brigade's side and a nearly complete annihilation of The Brotherhood's forces in the area. This event sparked an all out war between the two factions, that lasted for more than two years after The Mortwake incident. The 'Golden Boy', as he is being called by his friends and close ones, has never been seen this furious since the incident, but everyone knows that the memories of finding the slaughtered bodies are still haunting him to this day.

I have experimented with new tools and a method of coloring and shading my artwork while painting Saroje. As I found the result pleasing, you might see more of it in the future. I hope that you enjoyed the little story despite its grim nature and like the final result.

Saroje Vex is busy with family matters as well as making sure everyone is safe during the summer season, while the threat of the elemental incursions is looming over everyone's heads. He might donate something down the road, when the situation calms down enough. For now he has no Arcanite key, Truesilver key, Golden key or Copper key either.
