Description
Yeah, I did it. I shouldn't have (that's what my wallet says), but I did it. I bought myself a Geforce 1080TI. That means that combine with the Geforce 1070 that I already had, I can now give a shot at animation. So this is the first test I did using Rebecca (this time on Genesis 2 instead of Victoria 4 and with different hairI thought that a "simple" () walking animation would be a good start as "first steps". Well, it did took a while. First learning the very basics of Animate2 with Daz Studio, then learn a video editor (HitFilm Express), then learn an audio editor (Audacity), then a video converter (XMedia Recode). I know it's a really basic video... but it is the "first step" of a journey.

i loving how smooth the animation looks, im interested in making something similar, would you mind recoomending software and resources to do this type of thing?

I personally use Daz 3D for my work. Some others will use Poser or GMod or Blender. There is a lot of options and different opinions on which one is the best. The only thing I can recommend is whatever software you're going to use, be patient. Learning to play with the lights and shadders and textures need some time and practice before it looks good. Start with single images to learn the basics and then move to animating things.

i do wonder how fast the rendering is going with that new Geforce? cause having those building and all that movement that could take quite some times. that's 1 of the main reason i only focus on the figure and not the surrounding ><

I am not impress by the specs/price ratio of the new GeForce series, at least not for rendering. I still think that buying a 1080TI is a better solution than a 2080Ti. The price is ridiculous for about only 800 more cuda core(about 800$ more than a 1080TI in Canada). And when you look at some reviews on the internet, I'm not the only one who's not impress.

I agree with Nancy-Jo .. this is AMAZINGLY good. Her arms, legs and hand movements .. and hip sway and bouncing breasts .. are perfectly done. The detail is tremendous .. even her facial expressions are to perfection. I can't even begin to imagine how much time this took and how much effort went into this. Let's face it fans .. Galiagan is a genius !!

Making her walk is not the difficult part. There are aniblock that you can buy for Daz studio that makes her walk. It's more about the fine tuning because of her shape that requires some time to adjust. And the clothing part too with the clipping issue. I won't call myself a genius, I'm just doing my homework and learn the basic of animation with Daz... and hopefully improve. This is what it's all about. That animation was called "first steps" because I made something simple (a walking cycle that you can buy on daz3d.com) and adjust it to the kind of figure that I had on the scene (because that aniblock that I bought was made for a thin model and not a voluptuous one like this). And learn the other software to edit videos and sound (the footstep is a combination of two footsteps sound that I found on the internet that I mixed together ). And finally, playing with the camera and having it shake when she's right next to it. The only thing that I'll take credit is the face expression with the wink that I had. But that, I learn it from you with all those renders that you posted: the importance of having the right face expression.

Whatever the case, I think it's one of the best short vids of its kind! Seeing more like it would be truly awesome. Carry on!

Hey, this is really well done. It looks a little bit snappy right before the front foot contacts the ground during the walk in a few steps. But other than that it's really well done. Maybe add a bit of a camera shake that gets more severe the closer she gets and then tapers off as she gets farther away. To really emphasize the impact of her steps.

Thank you. Indeed the camera shaking is something that I will have to work on eventually. The shaking of the camera you see in this animation is a pure accident on my part because I had problems manipulating it. I left it there because I thought it fitted with the scene with her being at her closest to the camera, but it wasn't supposed to be there. Well I still got a lot to learn, but playing with the cameras is something that I will try to learn fast.

One thing at a time. Just making her move and the camera followed her was complicated enough for my first try. Maybe next time.
