Here is the final result, 28 hours after I first took out my pencil and started drawing the line art. This would be the first digital painting I’ve ever done. I am quite pleased at the result. It is a conglomeration of different coloring techniques like finger painting, burn tool, “hair shading” and others. You might notice how some places are shaded differently than others, that’s because of the different tools I used in shading. This drawing was based on the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, my favorite game. It appears in the players guide. I pretty much aimed to reproduce the drawing, but while I was at it I decided to add some originality (such as Link’s hair). I also used textures to make it look more interesting (in the back of Link’s shield and Epona’s saddle cloth). Link was tough to draw since I had barely drawn humans before. Epona was tough to shade. But in the end I am very happy with the way it came out. It is one of my best drawings IMO. This drawing is pretty much done, but I might give it a few final touches and maybe add a background. But that will be later, I am just happy to be finished.Update: I added a simple background. The grass was made with the grass brush and uses two grass tones.

Ohhhhh, I always loved that horse. That was my favorite part of the game, was riding Epona. GREAT job on the anatomy and coloring!

Wow! this is beautiful! This being your first time with digital art I am truely impressed!(you already surpass me in digital art! ^^) I like how you did your clouds they look almost real, and your anatomy with both Epona and Link is awesome! again this is just a wonderfully done picture that very much so needs to be faved! (Ocarina of Time is my favorite Zelda game too! other than the first Zelda!) I love Epona! ^^

Eeeh! I've been playing this game all week! (snow days rock!!) I love Epona!!! In fact, I just got her yesterday ^^ (Is playing the game for the forty-millionth time)
I think this picture is wonderful ^^ I like the hair on her feet and tail, and the grass. ^_^

Thanks for the comment . Ocarina of Time? That game is like, the god of games. I have played it about 15 times, it's just the greatest. Epona makes the game much more fun. The Windwaker was alright, but Epona's absence kind of disappointed me. That's why I'm happy to see her back in the new Zelda game, which I'm sure it will be great. It's ironic, the first time I played Ocarina of Time and I got Epona, there was a snow storm

Yeah, it's cool that Epona comes back in the new Zelda, but the new Zelda looks a tad......noir. XD Like, a bit too mature for a Zelda game. But we shall see!! We shall see!!! Dungeons > All, I hope there are lots!

I don't think it will be too mature in the aspect of blood and stuff. It does look darker, like how Majoras Mask was considered darker. I hope it is rated E for Zelda is something everyone should play. But I think it will be rated T. Star Fox adventures wasn't so dark and it was rated T. Well see how it is in a few months (E3). ^_^ You know, I feel better about the game now. I really was afraid that it would be too dark for Zelda, but maybe not. Maybe it'll be just like OoT ^_^ I hope it's not too action-based, though, that would make me go grrr. XD

Nintendo wont put any gross stuff on the game. They will try to keep it at rating E, the worst T. If the game is really mature it might resemble Metroid Prime in it's eeriness. I hope it will be like OOT, and if it is possible better. But I just can't imagine anything overdoing the happiness thet OOT gave me. But if anyone can it is Nintendo. I'm really exited about the horseback fighting. It looks great. Hopefully it will come out right after E3.

Yush yush, here too. I was OBSESSED with Pokemon, but still I bashed Nintendo. I was a confused little thing. But when I played Zelda, I finally realised that all this goodness was coming directly from one place -- Nintendo. For some reason, I didn't connect Pokemon to Nintendo, probably because it was on the Game Boy, and I never connected Nintendo to that, either. .........Yeah I know....I was dumb. But I wisened up 'cause of Zelda, so I repented and all that, lol, and swore fealty to The Place Where Luck is Left to Heaven. Heh heh heh.
................Uhm, thats what "Nintendou" means. Just in case....you didn't get that.

I remmember those days, I was nuts about Pokemon. Because of Pokemon is that I decided to get a video game system, the Gomae Boy Color. Then I decided to buy Link Awakening DX and I fell in love with Zelda (not with the princess, but with the game, althought she doesn't look bad...

This is beautiful, especially for a first-time piece. Epona's shaded very well, and her anatomy is awesome. Link looks good too... You ought to add a background.

Wow! Wonderful job! Epona's anatomy is GREAT- I think it's very impossible to draw horses myself. For a first time digital painting, this is great. Link is great, he looks much like the original drawings. Maybe next time, or even as an addition, you could add a background. I think it'd look wonderful then.

Thank you. Epona's anatomy is good. But her right foreleg (?) is a bit weird, it thin it had to be more to the side, Oh well. I plan to add a background as soon as I have time. And thanks for the fav!
