Dave had his head in his hands, laid out on the couch he was sleeping on because Karkat was being a moody bitch and it was draining him.
Karkat was in their bedroom, watching a romcom on their tv. He was glaring heatedly at the tv, feeling like shit. This baby wasn't even anywhere close to showing,it barely hit the second week of his pregnancy, and he was already close to just wanting to claw it out with all this shit he's going through and putting people through like.....Dave.

Dave groaned as he layed down on the couch in a huff, he took off his shades and put them on the coffee table and listened to karkat's romcom from the bedroom. He's only two weeks pregnant and he's already acting horriblely moody and it sucks.

Karkat sunk further into the bundle of covers, a horrible onslaught of guilt and self-loathing filling his head and bringing tears to his eyes. He honestly didn't understand why Dave was still here. Karkat believed that if he were Dave he would've left his sorry ass by now. He already put up with his grumpy attitude before the pregnancy and now that he is pregnant he feels like shit because of how awful he's treating his matesprit. Red tears streamed down his face as kk attempted to muffle his sobs. He felt like shit.

Dave paused as he heard karkat crying, suddenly struck with concern he got up and walked into the bedroom. He saw karkat crying then looked at the t.v., seeing that the movie only just started. He looked back at karkat "whats wrong hon?"
Karkat jumped, too absorbed in his self loathing to notice his lover come in. Fresh red tears streamed down his cheeks as he saw the look of concern on Dave's face. He buried his face in his nest of blankets and mumbled into them "N-nothing I-I'm fine I-" his voice cracked as sobs escaped his lips and he shook "I'm s-sorry!! I'm so so sorry!!" Kk continuously apologized.
Dave quickly picked up karkat and sat back down on the bed holding karkat in his lap. He wrapped his arm around him and shushed him "karkat stop it, there's nothing to be sorry about"
Karkat sobbed harder "Yes there is! I've been nothing but a complete bitch to you and you're mad at me and I'm the worst piece of fucking shit ever hatched and I don't deserve you cuz I'm always angry and shit and you just put up with it and I love you for that I really do cause most people would've gave up by now and the fact that you didnt and still haven't makes me feel even worse cause I'm scum and..and.."kk babbled on and on, words tumbling from his mouth at top speed.

"Karkat I'm not mad at you" he pulled him closer "stop your self loathing karkat" he shushed him again and ran his hand into karkat's hair to help calm him down. "you are the best thing ever karkat! We can get through this shit together"
Kk sniffled, twisting his body around to face his lover, watery red eyes looking up at Dave with the most innocent and hopeful expression "You promise your not mad? Not even a little bit?" Dave brushes his hand on the smaller trolls face lovingly, wiping away his tears "I'm not mad at you Karkat, i could never hate you. Your the best thing that has ever happened to me, you make me really smile. You make my day go by without any pain!" he looked at karkat "So please, stop beating yourself up about everything, it's not your fault"
Karkat buries his face in Dave's chest again, trying to hide the small smile and blush that appeared at Dave's comforting words "Okay. Gods I feel like an idiot"
He looked back up at Dave with happy tears "I'm an idiot for doubting you. I'm sorry" wipes tears "stupid tears and mood swings"
Dave kissed his forehead "shhh babe, you dont have to say anything else" he leaned back still holding karkat close to him.
Karkat giggled, leaning up to plant a kiss on Dave's lips, wrapping his arms around his neck.
Dave kissed him back massaging kar's lower back with one hand and the other hand massaging his upper back.
Kk moaned softly into the kiss, pulling Dave closer and sliding his tongue across Dave's closed lips, asking for entrance.
Dave opened his mouth and comtinued to massage him to relax him.

Dave smiled in the kiss that karkat was giving him, loving that fact he was willing to show how much he loves him. He kissed him back with just as much passion. Karkat moaned, bucking his hips and pawing at Dave's shirt, wanting the damned thing off now!
"Mmm karkat" Dave gently pushed him onto the bed and moved himself above him "you really want to do this?" he rubbed his stomach softly and Karkat froze, arms immediately wrapping around his stomach. Karkat smiles lovingly at Dave, leaning up to place a soft kiss on his lips "Your right. I love you so much." Another kiss "so so much" hugs him tight "this is enough. Just being with you makes me happy"Kk nodded, snuggling up to his beloved matesprit and closing his eyes, breath evening out as he soon fell asleep.
Dave closed his eyes and let the tv stay on as he fell alseep with his love.
(Three months later)
Kk was in the kitchen, mixing a bowl full of apple flavored syrup. He was getting better at cooking thanks to the girls' help and decided to make something special for his lover.
Dave walked in and saw him cooking, he came up behind him and rested his head on kar "watcha making hon"
Karkat smiled "well right now I'm making apple syrup at the moment which is going to go in a very special dessert which I'm not telling you the name of and no it's not pie"
"Well whatever the fuck it is it'll be delicious cause it's from you" he kisses kar's neck softly and lovingly.

Kk giggles and smiles at the loving gesture "Well aren't you the sweet talker" he said and placed a hand on his swelled stomach as he felt a soft kick "Baby agrees with me"
Dave hummed and rubbed kar's stomach soothingly and left his hand there, he sighed happily " karkat... I want to ask you something"
Karkat nodded "Sure, love. Anything" he stopped his stirring and turned the oven on low so the syrup didnt burn and turned towards Dave with a smile "I'm all ears!"
Dave smiled down at him then smirked, as he got down on one knee "it's theee question" he held one of kar's hands
Karkat's eyes widen as Dave gets down on one knee, pulling out a ring box "D-Dave what-"
"Karkat Vantas... Will you marry me?" he smiled up at him with crimson eyes.
Ruby tears pricked at Karkats eyes as he smiled, nodding his rapidly "yes!! Yes yes yes HELL YES!!!" He chanted and pulled him up by his collar to kiss him full on the lips.

Dave smiled and he felt tears coming up in his eyes, he kissed him back and stood up wrapping his arms around karkat pressing as close to him as he can without possibly causing him discomfort.
They kissed like that for a good few minutes, kk reaching behind him to turn the stove off before clinging onto Dave again. They broke away when the need for air became apparent and kk rested his forehead against Dave's, staring deep into his eyes "I love you so much." He grabbed his face in his hands "More than anything"

"I love you so much, so much karkat that i can never ever leave you!" he picked up karkat and carried him to the bedroom and sat down holding kar in his lap. He planted gental kisses all over his face and neck while rubbing kar's back and stomach.

"Yeah..." he looked into karkats eyes, "wait did we tell them about you being pregnant yet?"

Karkat blinked at Dave a few times, realization dawning on him "I...I don't think we did" he smiled sheepishly "oops?"

"Oops yeah... They'll flip their shit" he laughed
"We should probably send a word out and stuff." Kk suggested then smiled, snuggling into Dave's arms "Add the engagement in their too."
"Yup" he pulled him closer, "but not today, i just want to cuddle the shit out of you"
Kk giggled, memories of that night flashing through his mind at Dave's words, causing his face to flush as red as an apple "hehehe, 'Kay~"
Dave layed kar down on his side and pulled himself into kar's back wrapping his arms around karkat pulling him closer and rubs his stomach.
Karkat sighs, leaning into his fiancées embrace. Then a large smile stretches across his face "Hehehe 'Karkat Strider'. Has a nice ring to it."

Dave couldn't help but growl when he saw karkat wince from the baby kicking inside him. He removed his hand from kar's swelled stomach.
Karkat looked up at Dave when he felt his hand leave its place, confused and a little scared when he heard the growl that left his lips "Dave? Honey what's wrong?"
Dave calmed himself "I'm fine, sorry I didnt mean to scare you....." he nuzzled his head back into kars hair.
Kar reached up to place a hand on Dave's cheek "It's ok, love" he looks down at his bulging stomach and whispered in a soft hum "sleep little baby, sleep my sweet child. Close your eyes and dream. Calm yourself my dear, don't you ever fear. For mommy and daddy are always hear" the kicking and shifting stopped.

(Five months later)
Dave is sitting in the waiting room pulling at his hair in stress and worry, he should be in there with karkat not out here!

"Sshhh... Its ok, it'll be over soon" he continued to run his heand threw Karkat's hair keeping it out of his face.
Karkat leaned into the touch, face still twisted in pain as another convulsion shocked through him and he screamed as he gave one last powerful push and the cries of a baby echoed through the room.

Dave smiled and could feel the tears runnin down his face "You did it karkat..."

Karkat smiled weakly, huffing "y-yeah...." The nurse came over, holding a pink bundle and smiling; handing it to karkat "Congratulations, you have a healthy baby girl"
Dave smiled and looked at karkat "What are you going to name her"
Kk held his baby girl close, smiling as her beautiful ruby red eyes looked at him. She giggled and laughed. Karkats smile grew "Scarla. Her names Scarla." He gave her his finger which she immediately latched onto with her tiny fingers.
Dave rubbed Scarla's cheek lovingly "I like that name" he smiled at her.
She smiled at him back, giggles bubbling from her tiny little lips "eeeehhehhehee!!!"
Dave couldn't help but laugh and giggle back at her, smiling.

Two days later found the whole crew in Karkats hospital room with everyone gushing over a happily giggling Scarla. The whole room was full of flowers and 'Its a girl!' balloons and stuffed animals.
Dave had his shades on and didn't look at anyone else other than Karkat and Scarla. Not really giving a shit about what everyone else was talking about.
Karkat smiled as Scarla squealed as Kanaya held out a red and white teddy bear and snatched the thing into her tiny little arms, squeezing as much as her two day arms would let her "Aaaaaahaaahhaa ababa!!!" She gurgled happily.
Dave smirked and continued to watch over his new family.
There was a knock on the door and the doctor walked in with a bright smile, explaining that karkat and Scarla are free to be discharged, handing Dave some papers to sign and leaving with a wave and a 'congratulations'. Kk cooes at Scarla "Here that baby girl? We're going home today!" Scarla just gurgled happily, smiling up at her mommy, arms still clinging to the bear.
Dave takes the papers and signs them, he was very ready to take them home where they could be at peace.

A few hours of getting Karkat dressed, packing all the shitload of presents and balloons into the car and putting said stuff away after they got home, the new family were found in the bed, curled up against each other.
Dave sighed as he held Karkat and Scarla close to him "It's good to be back at home" he cooed out

"This has been the longest" he smiled back at him and rubbed his hand across his cheek and pull him back in for a kiss.
Karkat kissed him back, putting all of his love and happiness into the kiss.
