Mheetu, Kopa, Iftekhar, and Afrooz had finally arrived at the buhayra herd. The landscape was beautiful. There were many trees and water, Mheetu looked with curiosity while Kopa looked with excitement all the territory.
A- Iftekhar, your mother will be waiting for you, go and see her, I will go and see how the morning patrol went.
I- all right ,see you later, father
Afrooz turned around and went another way.
Iftekhar looked at Mheetu
I- what do you think?
M- It's pretty big and good, I've never seen anything like it.
Iftekhar smiled
I- yes ,this territory has been fought over by different herds for centuries ,and my mother has been waiting for this place for years.
Mheetu looked at him
M- your mother was the queen, wasn't she?
I- well ,here we call her the matriarch ,but you can also call her queen Aliah . But keep in mind that my mother can be .... complicated, she is very firm and serious.
M- understood
Iftekhar led them to a lioness who had a golden mane and several scars. She was looking at them.
I- mother ,I bring you two travellers who need help.....
Al- Iftekhar, be quiet, I will deal with you later, son, go now.
Iftekhar nodded and walked away .He looked at Mheetu out of the corner of his eye and smiled.
Al- well then who are you ?
Mheetu bowed in respect.
M- I am Mheetu, I am a traveller ,the one next to me is my son Kopa ,we both ask for your majesty's assistance
Al- where do you come from?
M- I am from a distant land, my mother is Sarafina and I have no father. I have been taking care of myself for years but since my son arrived this season the herds are fleeing far away, and food is scarce.
Al- I see you are missing a leg. How do you manage like this?
M- I have lived with this condition since I was born, and I can still hunt and fight.
Al- I see, you are a young boy with great determination, we will help you, but what will you give me in return?
M- I can hunt and protect your territory ,I can also teach the cubs what I know.
Aliah thought for a few seconds and nodded.
Al- well, Mheetu, welcome to the buhayra pride. You will stay until you decide, but not more than 1 month.
Mheetu smiled and bowed his head.
M- Thank you, Your Highness
Kopa approached his father and smiled.
K- are we going to stay daddy?
M- That's right
Mheetu nuzzled kopa while he purred.
