I never did play Yokai Watch, but some of their design are pretty fun to look at.
I mean, a pompadour-wearing hooligan-goblin is pretty cool as a visual concept.

Seems like plenty of Japanese games (or at least those translated in English) have such things, a ton of puns, like Yokai Watch, plenty of Nintendo games and Dragon Quest.
