Read the manga a while back and got to the point where L died. Literally skipped over the entire rest of the manga just to see Light die, didn't even bother to read anything in between.

Y'know? I may actually check out this anime. L (who's gorgeous & looks like Syd Barrett) may die but Light gets his just desserts in the end & L lives on in spirit to gloat. If L shows up again as a ghost then that takes away the sting, it means he's still alive but without a body!
I believe in an afterlife & that gives me solace.
And L is really cute (c'mere you little fuzzball...

It means...#ehem# Girls only watched DeathNote because they where in love with L so they just watched how "cool" and "perfect" L was...L died so that meant that only devoted fans stayed to watch.

When he died, I cried so hard. And seeing Light laugh over his grave... killed it for me. I didn't watch for nearly a year... until I heard Light died and L looked over on him during his death. Still, L's death depressed me. ;~;

Yes, yes, a billion times, YES! I stopped watching right then and there for at least a month. It was so damn boring after that because the other genius, Light, was complete shit after that point. The only other person I actually liked was Near because he beat Light and made him lose his shit...
That was a great moment in Anime history.
