Man, this was a long one. Or it felt long anyway; college stuff and... other stuff got in the way. But now that it's half-term and I pretty much have no College left this year, I have all the time in the world to work on this drawing. Remember when I initially said I was going to complete this commission though before I got to the rest? Yeah... good thing I didn't stick with that.
Now this was difficult. At the beginning, I struggled to get the pose of Riolu down and after many attempts, I kinda got it down, but then was the background; the next hardest thing. The background is actually mainly inspired by Gunvolt's city design. Now just ruined, but one of the hardest things was that... Well I'm a big Nintendo fan and part of my that makes me stick with them is their colour choices are bright and kid-friendly, but this well, isn't. I used monochrome colours as an overlay to make the place look more dull.
I also noticed I put a crap ton of effects in this one just to make this stick out. I wanted to make the Riolu look more powerful and I suppose this was one way of doing it, but I suppose I wanted to make this over-the-top-ish because this commission was meant to be done last time I opened commissions some time ago (When was that, anyway?)
By the way, that isn't Aura Sphere, it's Focus Blast... Just to let you all know.
