Description Well, I've been meaning to put this online for a while. But here it is, the model of the Arwing I made. Its pretty crude and simple, but people seem to like it, so here knock yourself out !

It comes in an .obj format and comes also in source engine format. It also comes with the regular and black arwing textures.

Oh and if you do something with it feel free to show me. I'm kinda curious

This is excellent! Haven't looked at the download, but absolutely great job capturing this design.

Thanks ^^
Its not nearly as fancy as it looks though xD
Its very low poly, and most of the look comes from the textures I made.

No problems
If you're trying to improve on your stuff, there's an old article I read a long while ago that gave great advice on how go with painting textures. I can't remember where it is though..

But to sum it up, it said that you have to paint the texture and come up with a "story" for the defects and irregularities on it. Like, maybe at one point something made a dent somewhere and peeled the paint off in an odd way or something. Or maybe that thing stayed outside at the rain for a long time and got brought inside later on. As long as it fits the context the object to texture is in, it works !

It also insisted on looking at where things rust or get dirty in real life. Like rust tends to accumulates around places water drips down, or accumulate more often. Or dirt tends to accumulate in places people touch the thing the most, and it also tends to accumulate along ridges , insides holes and creases.

That knowledge turned out really handy ! I suggest you'd try looking around for articles like that. They're not tutorials but they're really helpful for your workflow and general good practice !
And I stumbled on this recently as well :texturing.blogspot.ca/
There are some good links in there!

I know that all of this is quite old, but i'm still happy to comment.

i'm glad you did come around to posting this oh so long ago because the original arwing is my second favorite rendition of the fighter. the Starfox Assault version is my all time favorite. it's really really cool to see the original in "HD". i can only imagine what the original starfox game woulda been like had it've looked like this.

No problems !

I personally don't like or hate the SF assault design, but the snes design is my favorite, as you probably have already guessed XD

And yeah, that would be neat !
I'd like to see an actual remake of sf snes ! Or at least a game set in the same timeline !

I love this model. Reminds me of the first Arwing. You have earned another watcher.

Well its the arwing from the 1993 Nintendo Power Starfox Comics, and it was itself based on the model arwing used in SF SNES's promo art. So its not a coincidence XD
Thanks for the watch btw!
