Finally I have a new piece of work to show you guys! This is the most complicated composition I have created, dynamically and in respect to color as well. Its a bit bombastic but that is how I roll. Still sharpening the old stick so I'll be able to hunt big jobs. This picture took about a week to complete. I don't watch Naruto, so in order to ensure I respected the show, and understood what I was drawing, I watched 50+ episodes, 30 of which were in a row. Immediate proceeding the 30th episode, I listened to some Japanese music and ate ramen so I could express my burgeoning weeaboo nature. Guy Sensei called me on the phone and let me know how big of a bad ass I was for drawing him like the bad ass he is. Our bad ass natures collided through telecommunations so hard my cellphone exploded. You guys owe me a cellphone.Related content

You're right! Gai sensei there looks pretty bad ass. If I were able to draw such bad assness, I would not be ogling at someone else's badass drawings of badasses.
Thanks for answering someone about layers and colorizing and such. It's interesting that you did this in grayscale first.
Whatβs really dynamic about this picture, is that at first I thought I was looking at a water-color; the colors around the characters are strong, yet are a subtle background (at least compared to the action packed poses of the characters); it looks like a mix between lighting and waters crashing up on the waves which is a splendid complement to the baddasses of the characters. Without the background Iβm not sure this piece would be as admirable, although would still hold much skill and craziness without it.
The wide array of colors is very fitting; you have so much green, but compliment it with pink and blues and yellows, and no black! Thatβs a very bold step not to have any black in a picture where the characters you imitate drawing are constantly drawn in black and white.
Well anyway, Iβll say what everyone else said about this picture before I go too, just to round off my excess complimenting: βYAY!!!!ROcKLEEE!!11!!
