woo-hoo! Jewelry as a daily deviation - congrats!
Incredible detail... more industrial & less romantic than Thomas Mann... bet this weighs a bloody ton on the hand, but very much worth it!

I love the level of detail, and all the nini pirpes, i think it's a bit too silver though, needs to be slightly more tarnished.

Wow, I want this ring. It is totally industrial. I wish I had access to such lost wax method equipment, especially one that carves it directly from a 3D computer image. How much would it cost to have one made for me?

That's extremely unique - it looks wonderful
What type of metal is that? It looks silver but it also throws a reddish tint
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
gandolfi In reply to fragmeister [2005-10-11 20:31:44 +0000 UTC]
It's silver, the reddish tint is due to the low quality of the photo, to take photos of silver pieces it's quite difficult.

Elegant and industrial. This piece reminds me of Indian Larry's motorcycles (I'm a junkie for the "Biker Build-Off" series on the Discovery Channel) in the way it leaves the wires exposed, so to speak. So much of jewelry making (and a lot of so-called functional art) is about clean curvolinear shapes and ergonomic expression, but this is a fine example of how angularity and a willingness to highlight the "guts" can make for a wonderful piece of art.
Well done, thanks for the share.

wow! this is amazing. definitely my kind of ring! what method did you use?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
gandolfi In reply to o-precocious-one [2005-08-24 06:41:09 +0000 UTC]
It's been computer designed and then printed in 3D in wax and finally sent to be done in silver.
