Super happy you like him! However, the costs for that would be enormous. (especially for a plushie that size and detail)It would be at least thousand dollars and that doesn't include the shipping. It took me me several months to finish him and there were moments where I felt giving up. It is a lot of work and materials. The materials alone cost a lot of money. That's why I'm not offering plushies as commission. It takes too long and chances are high the result will not look good. This one took me several tries to get his face right, also had to redo his legs. His clothes are separate pieces and fully removable.
What you could do is commissioning a professional artist here on Deviantart. They may be able to do a smaller/simpler version for a more affordable price. There is also this site: www.budsies.com/ where people can send in a drawing and they make a plushie based on it. Want to try it myself, since I don't want to go through that labor again. Hope that helps a little bit.

i'm... kinda in awe here. You perfectly captured him. I really dig all the details you put into him, and the fact you captured his shape and expression. I imagine it must be really hard to make him not look derpy from all angles.

It was a challenge but it was worth it! Had to do his head twice(because of eyewonk)and other body parts as well, since he turned out a lot larger than I planned. Was so grateful of having a sewing machine for his clothes(I can actually wear his cloak)and there were moments when I wanted to give up. Now I'm happy that I have him! Still thinking about doing another big one with more accurate features, since at the time I made this one I still tried to figure out Merlock. ^_^

I honestly never knew anybody who made a merlock! But it surprsingly looks like something authentic from disney world! And I bet it did from numerous amounts of details

I googled for Merlock-related merchandise and I couldn't find anything besides stamps. Maybe they didn't made any merchandise because Disney thought the movie was a failure. But the movie had a lot more success in Europe. Even as a child I wanted to have a Merlock figure or plushie.
Really like this character and hope he will appear in the new DuckTales episodes!

He appeared as the main boss in some video-games, but that's pretty much it. Wish Disney would show him more often! He is a great villain.

You're a VERY accurate guy, anyone tell you that? Because the overall plush design is spot on!! Plus, you seem to have a LOT of patience when you made it! Awesome job!

To be honest, there were moments when I didn't feel like working on him(especially the clothes). So I had to kick my own butt to keep moving! Now I'm thinking about doing another one(this time smaller).
I'm very happy that you like him!

Most impressive...Β is this all from scratch, or did you use something for a base model?

GantzAistar In reply to SilverZeo [2014-07-04 02:28:28 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! All from scratch with some failed attempts. Had to do the head and legs twice. And take lots of breaks because I went to Germany for several weeks and ran out of materials, because he got a lot bigger than I expected.
I'm quite happy how he turned out and I'm thinking about making another one(smaller this time).

How long does this usually take for you?

GantzAistar In reply to SilverZeo [2014-07-04 04:31:51 +0000 UTC]
It depends how big and how detailed the character is and how much spare time I have. This one took me a while and he is fully clothed(shoes, pants, dress, cape, accessories). Started late fall last year and finished him in june this year.

How long do you think it would take to make this mouse king plush? silverzeo.deviantart.com/art/Gβ¦

GantzAistar In reply to SilverZeo [2014-07-04 04:42:33 +0000 UTC]
Probably as long as the Merlock-plushie. Because he needs clothes as well.
Making clothes for a plushie is like making clothes for a human.

Hmm... so it won't be ready till Christmas then... but what would be the general cost? I am hoping to get something like that done for a friend, to help her lift her spirits...

Since it takes so long I don't do plushie commissions in general. With this one I'm surprised by myself that my Merlock turned out nicer than I expected. I rarely do plushies and this one is the hardest one I ever did. I would like to help, but it takes super long and there is no guarantee that it will turn out nice. But there are many talented plushie makers here on Deviantart that accept commissions and are faster and better than me. You can contact them and ask how their price range and time is.

holy wow!
i don't think that official Disney stuff looked that good at the time when cartoon was on the show.Β
Great job! love the variety of styles and technics you use!

I don't think they ever did a plush version(or any toy in general) of Merlock and other side characters of the show. Wish they had, because he was my favourite character as a kid(he still is, that's why I made this.).
I'm very happy that you like it!

I don't think I will ever do plushie commissions. It just takes too long and I'm not that good in it. :/ But I'm very happy that you like it!

Yeah i believe you on that, the part of taking too long, that you're not good i don't believe that since it does look like an official Plushie that you will see from Disney Merchandise, which is cool.
