Since I once had a dream about Merlock's family, I was thinking about giving him a sister(well, actually two sisters!).
Also thought that his talisman could be a family item, that gets handed down to the new generation(whoever has magic powers to activate it).
Once I have more time, I will draw them.

I fully agree! That is one thing I find annoying when people genderbend(especially when the character becomes female)a character. The female form either becomes a typical busty Barbie-like sexdoll and males sometimes muscly and young(often combined with skimpy outfits(both genders)). It is hard to find good rule63 drawings. With this one I really tried to remain Merlock as he is. In fact I would not change a darn thing on him(even though, I tend to draw him bigger and fatter than he normally is(need to change that

cool! I've seen those pics before and they are beautiful. I love historically accurate art. Hmmm. I'm not sure but it reminds me of an 11th century type robe.

I used to have a book full with historical clothes around the world. Wish I still had it.
Lots of rule63 drawings actually don't stay true to their original forms. :/ Often looks like entirely different characters kind of dressed like the original character.
I think it is a fun thing to draw the character as their opposite gender and different style.

I've been getting more into Victorian clothing and enjoy drawing the dresses.

no you didnt have to, you did his genderbending perfect! XD and also for his genderbend she's a little bit less chubby than his man self

Thanks for the link! Funny, In a dream I saw concept art of Merlock and his outfit had some elements/details like the one in your link. He also had a knife in his belt/sash and also wore a small bag to carry his belongings. I definitely will give him a knife/dagger.

I should start sketching it out. I also might give Merlock a more realistic look. But I won't do the thing the artist did with the fox(in that case a realistic wolf shredding his clothes).

Hmmm, maybe. Pretty sure Merlock was sultan before at some point(most likely several times).
Also want to draw him in other native outfits too, since he most likely traveled a lot. It is fun to give my favourite characters different outfits.
