Description
An if I live until I be a man,I’ll win our ancient right in France again
Or die a soldier, as I lived a king.
Prince Edward (Richard III. 1.3.92-94)
Edward V was such a beautifully written minor character. Even though he wasn't a major character in the play or series, nevertheless as with Shakespeare's other characters, he still made a profound impression on me personally. Edward's youthful innocence and noble bearing was so symbolic of Richard's animosity and jealousy in the play. I thought in the course of watching the series again he was something of a messianic figure. Dramatically Richard III's a highly functioning sociopath, able to hide his true self beneath a mask of charming loyalty, by faking his fealty while watching Edward climb up to the throne. Although Shakespeare knew how to write a compelling story, I find real history more interesting.
Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the screenshots of him and his brother. Still have a few left to post.
