How did you do the blurred wing?
Ive tried yet I still don't know how.
Whats that technique even called?

I do it the stupid-i'm-lucky-if-I-don't-screw-this-up way. The best way to do it in a program like Gimp or Photoshop is to draw that section of wing you want blurred on a seperate layer, get all the shading done, merge all those layers together, and then duplicate it, use gaussian blur on the duplicate, maybe a motion blur on a second copy, and then viola!

The way I do it in Sai (I don't recommend this at all unless you're lazy like I am) is to basically do it the same way as above, only because Sai doesn't have a blur tool take the water tool and go around the edges to manually blur it yourself. It takes a bit of practice, and always do it on a copy and save the original just in case you mess it up, but it's fairly easy. I also lowered the opacity just a bit so you could see through the wing tips a smidge, to add to the illusion.

Hope this helps!

It does!! I'll try it on my next piece of digital art, thanks for taking the time to write that all out for me!

Not a problem, I figured it out by accident myself. Glad to help!
