Description Recently got a new laptop, so I decided to try and see if it could run my tablet better than my old comp could (which was crap ).

well, turns out it runs way better ^^, so I decided to to try colouring with it. Heres my first attempt at soft shading with it. some part are better the the others, and I havent gone into detail (hands) yet.

What ye think?

Very nice, this shows me more about how you shade and such quite well from the visual alone.

I think it came out pretty nice and shiny!

Are you sure it didn't come out of a washing machine? o_o

What tool did you use to add the shades? Brush or Burn? Because it's got a strange shading on the feets.

Very nice work anyway, though a cel shade would fit him better, imho.

I used a normal brush at 11% opacity of a lighter and darker colour, each stroke made it darker or lighter.

Ya cel probably would suit HER better lol (easy mistake)

Whoops. I though that was just a breastplate

She doesn't look much like a girl though. Try adding ticker eyelashes.

Btw I use black and white to shade. I just place them on the same layer with fusion set to soft light and then I play with opacity. Try it out
It's fast and worty, but it doesn't work on the primary colors and the secondary colors. I use a normal layer with very low opacity for that.

In the official design of slur she could really easily be mistaken for a man so it makes me happy for you to mistake her XD.

As for the B&W, I'll give it a shot ^^

I use the same method, white or black layer (lighting and shading) and changing opacity to get the desired effect. It can be quite usful. Though as you work now is good too.

I forgot a detail.

Beware. Use black and white if you have a white light source. If you have a neon light of a lightbulb light you should change them to a very light blue/dark blue and very light yellow/dark yellow. It works great even this way.
