Description This is a match between DC’s Flash and Marvel’s Quicksilver, the speedsters of their universes.

The first version of the Flash was Jay Garrick who appeared in 1940’s Flash Comics wearing a costume inspired by Hermes/ Mercury, the speedy messenger of the gods in classical mythology. The better known Flash, with a red costume and lightning bolt motif is Barry Allen who first appeared in Showcase #4 in 1964.
Barry Allen was a police scientist working in a laboratory when a lightning bolt strike spills chemicals all over him. He gains super speed and decides to fight crime as the Flash.
Barry also invents a machine called the cosmic treadmill, which he can use to travel through time.
Barry would later learn about the concept of the Speed Force, the source of power for many heroes with super speed. By channeling the Speed Force, Barry gains numerous other superhuman abilities and his speed is possibly without limit.
Flash is a founding member of the Justice League, and though other characters have taken on the title of the Flash, Barry is said to be the greatest of all.

Quicksilver, a.k.a. Pietro Maximoff, first appeared in 1964’s X-Men #4 as a villain. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants alongside his sister Wanda (the Scarlet Witch), but he did not share the loyalty his sister had for their leader, Magneto. He and Wanda would later leave the Brotherhood and eventually join the Avengers.
Even as an Avenger, Pietro was still uneasy. It appears that he has great disdain for all people save his sister.
Pietro was born a mutant with superhuman speed. Besides being physically fast, he is also extremely quick-witted, which is possibly why he is forever annoyed with everyone else.

Both of these heroes share certain skills that are required to function at high speed, such as superhuman endurance, stamina, reflexes, cognition, and healing. An attack delivered at such high speed would be equivalent to a superhuman blow. They can also rapidly vibrate their molecules to pass through solid objects.
Quicksilver has an advantage in that his speed is innate, whereas without the Speed Force, Barry is a normal human. However Barry has an extremely strong connection to the Speed Force, being inextricably linked to it. The energy of the Speed Force also grants Barry other abilities and he can reach speeds far greater than that of Quicksilver.

These two have actually fought in the DC vs Marvel crossover series, though that Flash was Wally West, not Barry Allen. Flash, with his much greater speed, clearly had the upper hand until Quicksilver attacks after Flash is distracted when he saves civilians from a road accident. So perhaps Quicksilver’s somewhat villainous nature would have given him victory, but he is hesitant to defeat his opponent in such a manner. This gives Flash enough time to knock him out, and win the match.

Haha ! I like how people try to compare the speeds of those two trying to say who's really the best forgetting those speeds limits where only invented by scenarist on purpose to tell a good story. No use to really compare unless you want to tell a good story about that (or if you are 7 years old ).
Still, it fun to compare how similar they are visually or plot wise.
I tried the same comparison (will post it later) but I choose the blue suit for Quicksilver. Why did you choose the green one ? Personnal taste ? Because it was the first ?

I usually try to choose the costume that the character is best known for. In Quicksilver's case I wasn't sure, but I went with the green one both because it was the first and also because he has been using it in more recent comics as well.
Eventually I plan on doing variant pictures where the characters have different costumes and are also fighting different opponents.

Quicksilver has never been on the Flash's level of speed, for awhile he was only capable of going about 770 miles per hour, but over the years Marvel has had to increase Quicksilver's ability several times. Even they knew just how weak that sounded when he was compared to the Flash.

in a game of speed Flash wins every time, he could circle the globe fifty times before Quicksilver even has chance to get into the sprinting position
