Description There is only one poem on earth I know, and only one poem I really love, one poem I have always tried to capture on film ... three days ago, the button clicked ...

english:

His gaze, going past those bars, has got so misted
with tiredness, it can take in nothing more.
He feels as though a thousand bars existed,
and no more world beyond them than before.

Those supply powerful paddings, turning there
in tiniest of circles, well might be
the dance of forces round a center where
some mighty will stands paralyticly.

Just now and then the pupils' noiseless shutter
is lifted. - Then an image will indart,
down through the limbs' intensive stillness flutter,
and end its being in the heart.

Rainer Maria Rilke, 6.11.1902, Paris, my birth town

ohmygod!
! i saw the shot's title... thought, 'could it be...rilke'
a typed copy of this poem was sent to me, anonymously, maybe 10 yrs ago, exactly the same english trans., with just the words 'you' and an arrow pointing to the poem. They'd included the title; the whole mystery intro'd me to rilke... and had become a kind of... heartbeat in my psyche...
i still don't know who they are, but they 'saw' me.

somewhere a god[dess] is smiling...

great moment
best

This is an incredibly beautiful photograph.
I love how it seems like there is a hand, and its skeletal fingers are reaching out and have wrapped themselves around his body, and are pulling him in. But he seems unafraid of where he is being pulled to, because he is looking right at his destination.
It's perfect, great job.

Nice shot!
Have you edit it at photoshop?
I asked it because the bars at right are blurier then the buildings at left. And it seems that bars are closer than the buildings.
However, it's a good photo, with good lighting and composition.

Well, you already know my feelings for your model, so I won't go around talking about it anymore (at least for now )

I saw this one before you submitted, but looking at the piece together with the poem... gives it a whole new feeling.

I love the b&w that makes his *great* body features pop out (yes, I know I said I wasn't going on about it, but heh...) aswell as the depth of field you managed to get here with those "thousand bars"...

It's almost as his eyes were looking ahead, to an unknown and unexpected place, where everything is blurry. But still, he keeps looking

I really like this. It's a matter of perspective and concept. Something strikes me about this one. I think that it has the feel of a prison fence, but that the model is outside the fence, having just become free and not yet knowing how to feel. That's just my interpretation. Anyway, a nice piece, I'm impressed.

WOW! I love the reflection! The lines on his back and stuff really makes it looks like he's blending into the scenery. I don't know if you meant it this way, but it really says something (to me) about how he's generic...just part of the background...cool!
