Couldn’t resit drawing one of my favorite characters ever - Penguin from Tim Burton movie. I watch it every winter. Also i always adored his creepy 6 wheeled rubber duck - car.

Happy Holidays!

haha. Looks great! I like the penguin designs here. The dead fish were a nice touch too.

Aww yessss, the Tim Burton films! I really miss when the Batman films had some level of fun to them, like the rubber duck car or the strange gothic architecture that probably wouldn't exist in a normal human world. I am going to get some flak for this, but I even thought Batman Forever and Batman and Robin had some incredible set pieces and good use of color. The newer films are probably the "better" films, but they're also kind of mentally draining. There's nothing but grays and browns.
...plus DC is just running the grimdark theme into the ground.

This picture really perfectly captures what the first two Batman films - and to the lesser extent the animated series - were about. They were creepy but they could also allow things like this to happen. It's a perfect blend of light-hearted zaniness and eerie. I love it!

And man, I feel like Tim Burton would've been able to pull off the stranger Batman villains like Mad Hatter or The Ventriloquist and it pains me that we'll probably never see a Batman film that has the weirder villains.
Hell, at this rate, I'd be very surprised if we ever see Killer Croc, Clayface, or Man-Bat in any film.

Same! Always wondered how those other villains will look in his set. It also interesting how Batman Returns is a "Penguin Movie". It starts with Penguin's birth and ends with his death + there is small romance between Bat&Cat, haha.

It helped that they probably picked the best actor for the job. Danny DeVito practically is a real life version of The Penguin. And Batman really does work best when the focus is on the villains. Batman provides the foil to their insanity.

I also liked that the Batman Returns take on Penguin also influenced two of the cartoons. The Batman also had a deformed Penguin.

It really is a shame that Tim Burton was pulled from the movie franchise entirely and replaced with Joel Schmaucher. Would've loved to have seen a good version of Batman Forever and Batman and Robin (although in my opinion Batman Forever wasn't THAT bad) or a Tim Burton-y Riddler or Mr. Freeze.

The amputated hand floating in the background with the fishes may have been the cherry on the top, but the piece it's still perfect as it is.

I always loved that movie. Yeah I am a Batman fan and Batman fans hate this movie because its weird and veru un-batman...but I don't care. In fact I think that's precisely why is a wonderful movie. Anybody can grab the comics and follow it point by point but Burton did a very  fantastic version something nobody does anymore.

Hmm...never heard of Batman fans hating Batman Returns.

Batman Returns and Batman the Animated series had the same "spooky/dark/snowy/Tim Burton-y" atmosphere with deep characters and focusing on villains and it simply the 2 things that made lots of new people interested in Batman back in early 90s. Some things in BTAS even were inspired by burton version like Penguin's design.

I guess the ones who hate it are those new ones that came to the scene with those boring nolan movies after "WHYY SO SEWIOWS XDDDD" meme.

Believe me, the more fanboyis they are, the more they hate it (like this dude for example www.batman-on-film.com/opinion… ). But then again, such kind of fanboys are actually a very very small annoying niche that nobody cares I loved those movies and I still watch them to date the same with BTAS and even though I enjoyed Nolan movies, I kinda have much softer spot for the tim burton ones because of their art style and atnosphere..even Forever to some degree ^_^
