I love the shading lighting texture and the details in the lava!
XD; though to be honest, it loooks like Mario is sitting on a ledge looking down upon the battle... XD;
still, I like how you portrayed the colors! I find Blue hard to work with in yellow lighting (I have trouble with yellow lighting period...) so this is definitly inspiration to keep trying!

Well, the two koopa kids are weighing down one end of the teetering platform, causing it to sink an end into the lava, and forcing Mario higher.

I wouldn't necessarily say it was hard, just different. Many of the elements in this piece were new to me, and it took plenty of research to draw correctly.
