Interior of the domed roof - Leeds Corn Exchange
A fine piece of Victorian architecture/engineering.
They certainly knew how to do things in style & were great innovators
Taken with 8mm fisheye lens (i still couldn't fit it all in)

I visited Leeds last year and did LeedsMinster and Leeds Cathedral. Sadly missed this place. If I visit Leeds again I will have to be sure to come back to the Corn Exchange.

There is Leeds Cathedral (Roman Catholic) here :

And there is Leeds Minster (Church of England) (St Peter's Parish Church). It formally became a Minster on the 2nd September 2012.

I nearly missed the cathedral if it weren't for google maps. All you have to do is type cathedral in the search when you are in the map mode and all cathedrals become highlighted up on the map. Very usefull for finding specific building types like abbey, minsters and cathedrals.

It is Kev. 10mm wasn't wide enough. If i'd gone down to the next floor i might just have been able to squeeze the whole roof in

This was designed by Cuthbert Brodrick from Hull, the same fella that designed Leeds Town Hall . I haven't been in there since I was a kid!
Great shot Gary

Are you down for a week mate ? I will book a few days off if you fancy a trip out somewhere

Yes, I am down for a week, but don't go booking a few days off on my account. I certainly do want to get off somewhere, probably the Dales, but I also have a lot of people to get round and see when I get there. Do you have anything in mind? Do you know of any derelict buildings anywhere? We should pick a day from that week to allow Tony, Kev, Karl, whoever etc to arrange time off.
I'm looking forward to it
