The English name is Guinea Pigs. But Guinea Pigs are neither from Guinea nor have any relations to pigs. Their native home is in South America within and around the Amazon Rainforest.
Their scientific name I believe is Cavy or Cavia...

I know, I had four of them when I was younger :3
It's just that in Swedish they are called Marsvin. Mar is another name for the sea, though we don't use it, and svin is another name for pig. So, they are actually called seapig here xD
