He reminds me of my Guinea Pig, Smorze(she had all the colors of a campfire smores Marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker , She passed away at only 3 years old

This is a nice photo, but to me, it's still just a guinea pig. What sets it apart from the rest of GaS125's gallery, or the millions of other photographs on Deviant Art? I'm not protesting the DD, I'm just a little confused. This seems to support the argument that anyone with an expensive camera and Photoshop can become an artist. (Trust me, I want to be proven wrong.)

Mahh, sometime happens that, among many masterpieces, some DDs don't really look great or innovative... but so it is.
I like this good and lovely pic, and pheraps much more so did the admin who reported it as DD...
About Photoshop (or similar programs), IMHO a good or creative use of postprocessing is part of the business when using digital devices, but i'm quite diffident of the, really not uncommon on DA, yellowish and blueish PS effects (or actions...) to make a photo look oldish, or simply better than it is...

I suppose. I know that photo editing is an important process in modern digital photography - I just don't see a whole lot of it here. And that's good, it shouldn't be obvious. Taste is always a factor.
However, if you do a search for animal photos on Deviant Art, you will most likely find thousands of high-detail photos of people's dogs, cats, and gerbils - with and without editing - equally 'worthy' of a Daily Deviation. The worm's-eye-view perspective here is mildly interesting, but certainly not original, or uncommon (to say the least.) I would like to hear a better explanation of the technique this artist used that distinguishes them, and this photo, from others, rather than a glorified analysis of the angle alone.
